Without wanting to beat a dead horse the tryamkin situation did leave wiggle room for both sides to find a solution during next season. It’s probably better this way anyway as he may have to cool his expectations slightly to get a spot, which maybe means slightly better cap hit, plus he gets to play hockey in the KHL as opposed to sitting around twiddling his thumbs. it also might mean he’s gone but tbh if we keep Myers it’s no great loss. DSVII Posted August 13, 2020 Share Posted August 13, 2020 I've been a pretty vocal critic of Benning, still am as I'm skeptical of how he'll maneuver the cap with the unforced errors in UFA, but yes, this season is a success. The team is playing with house money now and we have a core in place where making playoffs to get experience actually makes sense now. The offseason will be interesting to watch. Never was happening in the first place so he’s out. Markstrom and Tanev are the other two UFAs - we can afford both of them. Fatenburg and Leivo won’t be no loss there .... and if Ferland is on the LTIR we won’t need to make a trade (Pearson?) of any sort to fit the rest in.
