Popular Post Patel Bure
Sorry guys, I re-read my OP and have realized how absurd It was. The Canucks shouldn’t be trading away so many young cost effective assets, while the Sabres and Stars would never trade such a young proven building block for virtually 3 unknowns. I think I was feeling nervous/bored before the game yesterday and so I came up with this $&!# sandwich of a proposal as a result. ps - If I could tweak my original proposal, I would suggest something along the lines of Podkolzin+ (the plus being quite small) to Colorado for Bowen Byram, but I can’t see either team making that deal. Just not realistic for teams to swap their prized young assets. For those of you interested in reading my original post, I’ve kept it below. [proposal] Podkolzin + Juolevi + Hoglander for either Dahlin or Heiskanen Yes, this will never happen and yes, I’m going into full ******* mode here, but if this proposal was offered, would.... 1) You accept the deal? 2) The Canucks accept the deal? 3) The Sabres or Stars accept the deal? In answering my own question: 1) Yes for either or 2) Yes for either or 3) Sabres say no, but maybe Dallas bites (unlikely however) Next season: Edler-Heiskanen Hughes-Myers Rathbone-Stecher #ByeByeTanev 1

And....it's gone. Agreed, but can you imagine having Hughes and one of Dahlin or Heiskanen together on that back-end? We would have the best young dcore in the league. Also, when you consider that.... -Boeser -Toffoli -Virtanen on the right side -Miller -Pearson -FutureCheapSigning on the left side, For the foreseeable future, It may not be a bad way to go all things considered. Nucker 67
3 unproven prospects for an established #1 NHL All-Star Dman? I don't think any GM would do this. Well, maybe Dorion would.
Elias Pettersson
We already have a defenceman that is better than those two. Why give up all your top draft picks to get another one?
Phil_314
I'd MAYBE trade Podkolzin for someone like Dobson. Both these guys will command too much money to retain the core tho

48MPHSlapShot
One of the best defensemen in the league for three completely unproven commodities? Hard pass by both Dallas and Buffalo.

-AJ-
Funny how you have two extremes on this one. I don't think the Sabres entertain this at all and I'm not sure the Stars do either.

If either of those teams do that trade you are stupid to not do it. There is no way either team trades away a number 1 Dman for prospects.

Podz is possibly better than advertised. OJ is just making his way now. No mention of Hoglander who looks like a young Burrows We need the skilled depth more than we need another upcoming superstar contract 1 2

Those D man are incredibly rare and you need more than just Hughes.

Van is close to being deep, gritty and highly skilled on every line. 2 franchise and 2 elite core players are enough to win if the rest of the lineup are complementary to fill in the remaining roster. Benning has almost achieved this. By letting Pods, Juolevi, Hogs + for 1 all be it franchise player... No thanks. I'd rather follow the Chicago blueprint rather then the Oilers or Leafs. 1
