Exactly what I just said about Jake in the Current Roster section.  So disappointing.  The playoffs are made for a player with his assets, but except for his fight in the last game (which I think Hartman initiated), he has basically become the Invisible Man.

Fear not

He's gonna wreck the rink on Friday

Markstromm's performance compared to Binnington's was the big difference in this game.  Markstromm stopped all of the shots he should have stopped and more.  Binnington let in some softies (Stecher's for example - nice shot, but from that far out you need to have that.)  Bo's goal was a complete undressing of the Blue's defender and goalie.  The Blues had their chances but Markstromm kept the Canucks in it long enough for the team to start finding the back of the Blues net.  Nice to see Meyers keep it down to a single minor tonight.  The power play was on fire.  Expect some serious push back from the defending champs next game.

Ha ha, I'd love to have your enthusiasm for Jake playing the way he could be/should be, but I think I lost that a couple of seasons ago.  He might just wreck the rink some night, but I think we know now he's never going to do it as consistently as he should be.  It's just not in his mental make up.

nice win strong game from markstrom and amazing game by captain bo, but can we get some bodies on tarasenko? he didn't factor in much but at the same time i don't see him punished much in the game like the beating pettersson is taking. let's hope this is a short series. St Louis is a very heavy team.. win or lose you are coming out of the series black and blue

I have a feeling JB patients with young jake may be running out.   If he’s not impactful this playoffs.....I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone.

He has arbitration rights this off season which may mean he will have a 3M+ price tag, in which case I think the smart move may be to just move on from him.

I'm still giving him until he's 25 to round out. But those two fly bys tonight really pissed me off.

He gotta finish those.

Didn’t even give the Nucks a chance at competing at all. Not a sweep but wouldn’t get past 5 games. 6 if we are lucky. Reports came out that half the Blues didn’t want to show up to Edmonton

JB has said he wants to get back the 2nd round pick he traded in this year's draft, and I think Jake will be his best asset for doing that.

Interestingly, if they give him a qualifying offer and he is signed by a different team, the Canucks would receive a 2nd pick in compensation (likely, depending on salary). Makes sense to pull the trigger on that trade before the draft if necessary/available
