ive watched Roussel closely and he seems like he honestly has more speed and hustle then virtanen. when he gets his legs moving hes honestly flying. for example that breakway goal in the minny series i believe. also so far some looks in the stl games.

virtanen might be faster but i havent seen his speed at all this playoffs. he looks so lazy

He's faster than an out of shape Virtanen.  And it was Ray Ferraro that said he believes JV is out of shape before everyone shoots the messenger.

i agree, jake looks  out of shape. i haven’t seen his speed yet in this series, st.louis looks fast.

Remember how fast Sutter skated to get his breakaway in MIN too?  ALL these guys are fast.   Anyone who’s skated with even fringe NHLers ... these guys are all incredible skaters.   QHs isn’t as fast as EP or JV and probably others on the team as far as top speed goes but he’s quick enough.   I doubt any of these guys couldn’t do a lap in under 15 seconds.

That’s ridiculous.   Stamina has little to do with speed.   Plus we’ve already seen his speed once his first game back - what a tool (Ferraro).

EP and QH look like they are really fast skaters, but I think it's more to do with how quickly they think the game and then immediately respond with the perfect play.  Someone missing from this conversation is Horvat.  His skating has become quite exceptional.

The Fastest straight line skating goes to Virtanen.

Ray Ferraro never has anything positive to say about the Canucks. If he's your source of info on the Canucks your opinion isn't gonna be worth much. No offense.

Surprised no ones said Motte yet. Virtanen, Horvat and Motte are our fastest skaters. Quinn isn't quite as fast, but has the best skating ability and agility by far.

Damn you beat me to it.
They guy has amazing speed.
So many times I have watched him charge in on the forecheck and surprise guys.  Not to mention when he skates the puck down, like he's gonna flip it in, then just charges in, slipping past a big check in the process.

Maybe but Jake NEEDS to step it up..  if not... He might end up in some other uniform because JB might not want to throw away a project 75% done BUT we also need guys in the roster who will be determined and consistant, and every cap penny counts so he needs to wake up in a big way or gone and he's not helping his trading stock either, it's one thing to be good seasonal but a no show in the playoffs is a stygma and who wants that?

Horvat and Virtanen are my picks. Motte’s a good one too.

Quinn was a bit faster at UM than he is now; I’d have picked him over anyone on this team if he was still that fast. He’s pretty clearly added some strength to become a better overall player, which has hurt his speed just a bit.
