My point is we shouldn’t be focusing on defunding or reforming the police because for the most part they are doing their jobs, what we should focus on is how we can lower the crime rates in those high violent crime communities.  That is done through better schooling, better housing.  Maybe a sort of universal basic income would help all people out of the slum of poverty which drives those people to crime.  But let’s not misinform everyone and villainize the police because they are the people putting their lives on the line for the good of society.

Remember when Twitter got very angry and racist after Joel Ward scored a series winning goal for the Caps just a few years back? Racism is alive and well and I'd rather see someone stand up and try to invoke positive change than bicker over whether a person has endured enough racism to have a valid opinion on this matter.

This is a societal and systematical problem, and cancelling sports for a day is not going to change anything. Protesting and burning down businesses during a pandemic won't either.

What the media wants this to be is a race problem. They want us all to be divided. They don't want us to take a hard look at the people in power, the people behind the scenes. 

The people that created this unfair and unjust system in the first place. That's who we should all be united against.
