fanzone2010
I am sick of seeing yet another Canuck team getting pushed around. Like the Sedin years all over again. And I think its not going to stop with this coach. Canucks down in games and already down a goal in game 4. Vegas so much more aggressive than Canucks throughout series, and Canucks players playing scared, but Travis Green won't dress McEwen and Justin Bailey. I just hate this about Travis Green. Never protects his players, and never gives them the tools to stay aggressive. Very small chance the "Nucks win this series with one hand tied behind their back. this young team is much more talented than its coach. FIRE TRAVIS GREEN! 1

naslund.is.king
No Matter the coach, team toughness has always been a complaint here. we had Torts FFS and it was the same complaint Your topic/paragraph isnt worthy of discussion or even being a topic. Put in some effort and some actual thought and you'll get serious replies/discussion.
24K PureCool
Just face the facts this market would not tolerate trapping intense checking style hockey.

JeremyCuddles
Canucks didn't beat St Louis with physicality. They played their skilled game. Problem is we're trying to beat Vegas playing their style. Roussel lit a fire under Lehner and Reaves with his antics, which I understand is his game but now the team is paying the price for his actions and our team isn't built to play that physical style. We didn't lose tonight cause we "got pushed around." We lost cause our team had way too damn many turnovers and our goalie wasn't his usual self. If Marky doesn't stand on his head this team gets clapped. Sedin era team passed the puck too much, current era team can't make clean passes to save their life. Except Petey and Hughes. 1

I disagree whole heartedly. In the games they lost they tried to play a skill game and the games they won I thought their forecheck was great. Our best game these playoffs was I think game 2 against the Blues and we just kept coming, very similar to how Vegas plays.

They are trying to play a physical game when it's not their style. The got outhit in their only win of the series. They got outhit in the series clinching game against St Louis. I'd go back further but honestly I am tired and lazy. Just take care of the puck, play your offensive game and the team is fine. Don't go trying to chin check bigger tougher teams. 1

Wait a second who the hell was hitting tonight???? Lol. I saw Petey hit, Motte, Virt, Myers, Edler, Rouss and Tanev. There have got to be some real inflated numbers tonight. We were extremely passive in my opinion. Edit: looked it up. Yeah there's definitely some inflated stats in the Canucks favour that game. They gave Bo 4 hits lol. When? Sutter had 3??? amplified0ne
Its mostly systems, id say. Our D pass the puck D to D or forwards back the puck up into our zone and too often when there is no pressure on the puck. As soon as a puck is bobbled or up against the wall/corner they got a forechecker trying to turn the puck over. Where as Vegas D skate the puck up the ice and pass it up the ice. xereau
Biggest problem with the team (for a couple seasons) is the soft collapse team D. They literally just give the other team the neutral zone, and then the entire D zone! IMO, it's designed to work a certain % above .500 in the regular season. When it doesn't work, you shrug off the loss, and move onto the next team. But when it comes to the playoffs, and you have to repeatedly face a team which attacks like Vegas, it's a real problem. Tampa would freaking eat this team alive in the finals. Edited August 31, 2020 by xereau
MoneypuckOverlord
the Canucks did out hit the knights by a lot and having Ferland will have help. at the same time I take a 2nd round playoff exit over the outcome of the 23 other teams that are sitting on their asses

Devron
Justin Bailey isn’t a physical player lol at least not to the extent of mattering in this series and why the heck would he dress him Edited August 31, 2020 by Devron44

Same with the Naslund teams even. They had lots of pushback and one of the leagues top enforcers for a while at least. Early Naslund teams were some of our toughest ever. Why we kept Zezel instead of Walker is still one of my biggest hateful moments against Keenan, apart from the obvious. Deadmarsh. Ouch. WCE team wasn’t as tough but it wasn’t soft either.
