Very mystifying that MDP is unfit to play when he has been in Vancouver on call for a moment like this. Too bad but curious minds are wondering what happened with that? Hope Mikey is ok and isn’t anything too serious.

Could be something as simple as DiPietro doing (or not doing) something that bumped him away from the strict NHL bubble protocols.  Not saying he went out and partied, but perhaps Kielly was more "bubble ready".

Was Mikey getting some work done this summer?  Like knee scope, something minor.

Canucks had DiPietro as part of their 31 player limit - he was supposed to be in protocol and kept in a bubble environment in Vancouver.   When players exit the bubble they normally have to quarantine to be allowed back in.   For Kelly to already be in Edmonton he might have replaced DiPietro before the recall announcement.

Oh no, that means Marky's out for a while  :(

Not surprised they didn't call up Mikey, he's not ready for the NHL.  We all watched that San Jose game, let him prepare in the AHL.

I don’t know if Markstrom’s injury is long term, he would probably have left the bubble if that was the case to get attended to.

Waiting for a contract means he wouldn’t be messing around watching games if he needed treatment or possible surgery.

I figure he'd be ready by next series, maybe not right away but if we went to the 3rd round we should ride Demko till he falters or if there are back to backs. That way Marky's fresh and ready to go.
