Those are fair points.

It's sad to see, given his tenure and commitment to the Wild, but it's just one of those things. Most players don't get a ceremonious end to their career.

It's weird to think that almost all the players from those mid 2000's days are gone, where'd the time go. Doesn't feel like so long ago that we were complaining about how boring the Wild were and competing with the Avs for division supremacy.

It's really sad that he couldn't get a final ovation from the fans given the pandemic.

There was his 1'000 game ceremony though and that was such a touching moment.

Even better was him actually winning that 1'000th game in a shootout and getting his 700pt and seeing how the whole bench just mobbed him afterwards.  It was really his night where everything aligned perfectly.

I hope they're able to bring him out during their next home game with fans, whenever that happens to be

Would think that they will honour him for sure.

Guerin says the Wild would be happy to offer him a job either in Minnesota or scouting in Finland.  Russo has reported a few times this season that he has been telling people close to him that it was his last and that he might go and play in Finland to finish off his career.

If Koivu was willing to take a cheap deal to play another year, I don't see why they didn't go for it. Yes he's 37, but he still put up 21 points in 55 games, and was one of the few centers that could win draws. Put him in a 4th center role. I don't see him being a defensive liability as he was their top defensive zone faceoff man. I get wanting more youth in the lineup, but he didn't seem to be a hindrance to the team. And from the sounds of it, if doesn't seem like Koivu is done.

If we move out Sutter for cap reasons, I honestly wouldn't mind getting him on a cheap deal to replace what Sutter did for us to buy us a year or two to have a center replacement if he didn't mind coming here. He seems like a character guy that would fit in with our group.

In a heartbeat and to be honest I would add a pick too to make it happen.

I think Mikko would be a great fit as our 3rd line C.

At the right price, I sure wouldn't say no.

Who is the Wild's goals leader if not Mikko? Must be Gaborik.

Edit: looks like it is soon to be Parise.. Also #10!

Only he’s too old and too slow to be Minnesota’s 4th line centre.
