lol I'm listening to this right now. Yeah, he wants to play here. Would be great, if he's willing to accept a hometown discount.

I wonder why this seems to be a very common fan generated prerequisite for players when there might a rumor or report that a player would like to join a club perhaps ?

Not a shot at you just something i've noticed quite commonly, like no if Brenden Dillon was interested in joining the Canucks and it was mutual they'd work out a contract.

awesome that so many players appear to want to come here....now.

(not necessarily talking about Dillon here, but where were they all when we really needed them?)

anyhow - almost any other time, this would probably be relatively big news...

but even if OEL didn't pan out...

It remains that the team has Edler, Hughes, Juolevi (and hopefully Fantenburg returns to 'tandem' with him)....

and with Benn still here, Dillon being a realistic signing would really require that also being resolved.

I honestly do not know what kind of player Dillon is but if he is any good then I guess so.

He's exactly the type of D we need in the 3rd pair.

Big physical 18-20 minute defensive D. Pretty well established player. Willing to drop the gloves.

If he comes at a discount it would be pretty worth it. Only downside then would be that is a LD.

no worries, I just meant with UFAs they can be greedy this time of year, but I think Dillon genuinely wants to play here and wouldn't ask for a big raise or anything.

Now this has me reconsidering OEL lol Maybe they should just re-sign Tanev and then Dillon? Those two would still be cheaper than OEL.

shorter term sure... Dillon and DeMelo.Barrie as UFA signings might be better than going after OEL. Apparently OEL played the right side with Edler at the WC's so that would likely be the pairing then the Giraffe gets to play with QH, hopefully that leads the Sea taking the Giraffe next off season after a good season beside QH. Use the 6m from the Giraffe to hopefully go after a top RHD who might be a UFA available

I think Dillon has a few options. I remember watching a video with guy in San Jose, either shortly before or shortly after the trade to Washington was announced. He was barely able to hold back the tears. He might be eyeing a return to SJ, although if he wants to compete for a Cup, he'd probably have a greater chance here. He might be hoping that Washington is interested in re-signing him, which I heard was their intention.

And he might want to be a Canuck seeing how well the team played in the playoffs, and how mightily they struggled with a big, physical team like Vegas. I hope he's not just blowing smoke and is legitimately interested, as I feel he'd be a great addition to the defense.
