Barry_Wilkins
Markstrom almost signed, and they're confident on OEL, which they relayed to Toffoli's agent? (Meaning they can't afford him.) Edited October 6, 2020 by Barry_Wilkins
kloubek
I don't think Toffoli is the be all end all for our team, but it was REALLY nice to have 2 full, top-six lines. It would be a real shame if we lost him, and certainly a step back on the scoring front. I believe we CAN clear the space - but Benning is doing the best he can to ensure it costs us as little as possible. I believe once the OEL situation plays out, we will see a lot more movement with our UFAs. 1

Devron
So basically they are saying Markstrom and Tanev have deals in place. I’ll believe it when we hit day 1 of free agency
Junkyard Dog
Guess that aligns with Virtanen's/OEL's agent saying he was expecting Virtanen to receive a qualifying offer today. Guess we aren't far away from that.
Master Mind
Always expected him to be a rental. Thanks for helping the Canucks during your short time here TT, I just hope you don't return to a division rival in LA.

24K PureCool
Damn. That sucks. Welp at least he is more of a luxury than a necessity. Edited October 6, 2020 by 24K PureCool
Googlie
I'm OK with this. We got to 1st in our division last season, before Marky's injury, without Toffee in the lineup. We can do it again
Popular Post Nucker 67
Not upset, Toffoli is a pretty good forward, but I'd rather the Canucks solidify the D and goaltending. 2 5
Fanuck
We were never realistically keeping Tanev/Toffy/Marky. A tough decision was going to have to be made, and perhaps it has been?

It isn't the worst thing to not have a 32 year old Toffoli at the time Well Hoglander is left wing, so I imagine him as a Pearson replacement. Podkolzin is right wing so I can see that as a possibility, but I'm not sure he will be ready for such a role for another few years (as you said), and I really don't want to see us falter in the meantime. I imagine Benning doesn't want to see that either, as I believe he feels our window is now open.
