Provost
As per TSN. Just reported on the radio that he has been qualified. We now need to keep $3 million in cap space for a possible arb award until we actually extend him. Edited October 6, 2020 by Provost

Millerdraft
Can you imagine the vitriol on here if he wasn’t tendered a QO and Benning allowed him to go UFA?! The optics... Edited October 6, 2020 by Millerdraft

Unwelcome to me on both fronts. I was hoping we managed to trade Jake as I think he is the player he has so far shown to be and not a legit top 6 guy. I am not actually sure how it impacts the ability to trade Jake. Can he still be traded if he rejects the QO until he elects arbitration? Can he be traded all the way to arbitration? Rick_theRyper
Jake will be worth it, he’ll continue to improve. What’s his QO 2.1 or something I heard
Millerdraft
Yes, he can be traded before arbitration AFAIK, IIRC. 1

It might be worth keeping an eye out for the next hour or so then for an OEL deal. Sometimes these things happen in bunches.
Pete M
McCann signed a two year $2.9M contract...JV to get something similar???
Spoosh
Very nice. Dunno if this is plan A or B starting now. Either OEL deal is going through and Toffoli is a victim of that process, or this is the deal falling apart and the team moving ahead with a different plan towards the FA period. Normal stuff but the timing is off to me and feels like it’s connected to the big stuff going around.

Moose Nuckle
Getting rid of a young player who has improved every season while playing a role we are lacking would be silly. My guess is he was being used in trade talks for domi and anderson so when that deal happened he was qualified. Noble 6
I would like to keep Virtanen, but I'm not sure management does. I would like a contract in the 4 year, 3M per range similar to Kapanen's deal.
JeremyCuddles
Makes sense with Toffoli not re-signing. Jake's gonna get that arbitration money in all likelihood. It's a 1 year show me deal, just a little more than people would hope for. Lol.
