Jake was on pace for an almost 50 point season while constantly getting punished and put on the 3rd and 4th lines.  Very limited time in the top 6.

He deserves a pay bump.    As you can see from all the players leaving,  looks like this team is not willing to pay their guys anymore.

You forgot to mention we've sat through a 7 year rebuild in this post :frantic:

He's due for a raise, but I don't think that last part is particularly fair

Marky was never going to get what he got from Calgary from us, not with Demko in the stable and the expansion draft looming

Tanev will be 31 in December, I don't blame Benning for not being willing to give him what he got, he played a full season for the first time at age 29-30

Stecher didn't get an offer as far as I know, but clearly they weren't willing to qualify him and are likely looking to improve that spot

You don't overhaul your defense by bringing everyone back, it doesn't work

Moving on from players and not be prepared to pay them aren't always the same thing

This is all fair.

I guess we have to be patient to see what Jim has up his sleeves.  But so far we went from 1 win from the WCF,  to a team that will not make the playoffs unless our back end is improved dramatically.
