I don’t think we can.

Teams aren’t handing out top 4 D men at this stage.

NYI and TBL and many other teams still have cap issues. I worry a bit about term  and age here, and the PED stuff. I'd prefer younger with less money and term. I'm not sure he's a good fit for the locker room.

Booth never struck me as arrogant.

Bieksa's story about Booth and Torts was hilarious: "you don't process things fast enough, David!" just about spit out my beer when Juice told that story.

Tampa has no interest in trading Cernak despite Canucks fans penciling him into lineups.

NYI is unlikely to trade any D unless we pay big for them.

I think he’d have 3-4 good years left in him.  There’s lots of top d in their 30s

id rather have a younger option too but this guy imho is an upgrade on Tanev.

Hard to say really, but those are the reasons he's not appealing to many.

Then people here should hate Myers.

According to the Vegas subreddit and Twitter he is the locker room glue. Take that with a grain of salt but while researching this guy that comes up frequently.

He’s played the right side more than the left in Vegas. I don’t think it really matters. Few guys can be really effective playing both sides. It’s a nice trait to have. Schmidt is a top 4 Dman. Benn is a fringe NHL er at this point

We'd be committing pretty much 6 million per season for 5 years for him. I'd rather have a natural rightie for that cost.

he might be, its just the near 6 mil and 5 more years part. At 29.

But if it comes with their 1st then whoopee, bye bye Loui.

If Vegas needs to pay a 1st to move a top pair D in Schmidt, there's no way a team would accept that same 1st to take on Loui. They would just take Schmidt themselves.

But I doubt it would cost that much to move Nate, if anything at all.

I know a guy who met Booth, and had the chance to spend some real time with him. He would 100% agree with that statement in regards to real life as well.

I can see the pairing with Myers working really well, but with no sweetener we can use to dump Loui this is no bueno.

I agree, I think they might keep him. But if that is via Stamkos going to Toronto, then other domino's may come available. The islanders are handcuffed after Barzal is signed, but they will move other pieces. These other pieces should trickle down to other moves I'm thinking. There will be someone available that we never considered.

I have evangelical cousins with the exact same glazed eye thing Booth has.

I think Vegas would have to add, teams know they're in a tough spot

If he can play the right side, which he apparently can, it might not be the worst thing

Bottom line is we've gotta add someone

we do, but we can add Vatanen or Hamonic for much less $ and term.
