So he's more of a banger that would go well with a puck mover. Who did he play with in Florida?

Keith Yandle, I believe

He was on the Leafs radar a couple of days ago ......

Wonder if someone is swooping in last minute for a Fleury deal.

I think it may be the other way around. Vegas might need to move more salary than Schmidt, so maybe they are letting the offers come in (looking for a Fleury combo). They probably had a couple possible deals in place - Florida being one of them. But as we see, they aren't done yet.

this screams like a Benning overpayment

What overpayment?

Eriksson was a long time ago and he clearly learned from that mistake.

Did you watch the playoffs? It's very arguable that Sutter Roussel and Beagle are important to this team.

So I'm not sure where that narrative comes from....

Calgary overpaid for Marky and Tanev, that's overpayment and recent.

Especially Beagle. How people act like he's so expendable is beyond me...

Would you take Faulk? Clearly the blues are a bad fit, but he was/is a hell of a player. R handed D...

I would if they gave a really big sweetener :)

That is a long term and a lot of dollars for a guy that under performed.

Has a big contract and is not the best defensively is he? I know he has a great shot, but we need a more physical D man. If people were against Barrie or Shattenkirk then this makes 0 sense either.

Blues made a big mistake signing Faulk for that kind of $ instead of inking their captain after winning a cup. If they didn't have Faulk they maybe could have still got Krug and kept Pietro

Stats say he's pretty good defensively

Per 60 mins:

Hits 4.23

Blocks: 3.26

Giveaways: 1.66

Takeaways: 1.65

Shot attempts (team, 5 on 5)

10% more when he is on ice (11,138 for vs 10,125 against)
