Regarding Clarke and McTavish

I don' think either are top 2, pretty slim either are top 3

So the question is who after that?

Buffalo....................top 2 ..Power or Beniers, but with Echel all a Buzz.....................................................................................................Beniers

Seattle....................top 2...Power or Beniers..............................................................................................................................................Power

Anahiem.................Has RHD -Drysdale and has Zegras....................they go either Hughes or Edvinsson..............................................Hughes

New Jersey............Has LHD Smith and are full at Center, in Hughes, Hischier, etc.....thiis is the first time Clarke is considered..............Clarke

Columbus..............Need an offensive center..............................................................................................................................................Johnson

Detroit....................They have Seider on RHD and need that LHD or a Center, so its either McTavish or Edvinsson...............................McTavish

San Jose................Who's left? Eklund, Lysell, Guenther, Wallstedt, Edvinsson...........BPA.......................................................................Eklund

LA...........................They are full at Center, and need wing, defense, and a Goalie......would you draft Carey Price as BPA?..................Wallstedt

Vancouver...............That is how I see it!

It’s going to be interesting to see how this develops. JB says he sees 9 guys at the top and everyone assumes it’s the same 9 that most list but nothing says he doesn’t have 1 or 2 other guys on his list.  It’ll get loud on here if one of the favourites drops to us and he goes off the board and selects Lambos or someone else. This could be one of the more interesting drafts to watch in a long time.

I'm sick of waiting...

If that's the case, then Guenther is probably the BPA at 9th.

Wouldn't matter if that's the order. It would just be merry go around.

Detroit picks Wallstedt, SJ picks Eklund, LA probably then picks McTavish. We probably still land Geunther.

An elite scorer with two-way acumen. Kind of like Boeser in that he's a sniper, but is a diligent defensive player too.

Then I don't &^@#ing mind him.

Would be amazing if Eklund drops to us. Holy, I'd $&!# my pants.

Not sure how on-the-money the Last Word On Sports is with their assessments, but this is where I got the player comparisons. It's interesting anyway. Should note as well, these are just stylistic comparisons only.

Interesting article about Luke Hughes.  On the hand the author says Luke has the potential to be a number one D man, then he goes on to compare Hughes to Tyson Barrie.  Kind of a contradiction, no?

Like I've mentioned before, I think Guenther is a top-5 player in this draft. I have a hard time seeing him falling past the Kings but he'd be a great pick for us if available.

Kind of. I wouldn't classify Barrie as a number one dman.

He's kind of one dimensional dman, something I hope Quinn doesn't come.

Guenther compared to Eklund, who you pick?

lol I noticed that too, but I think they also say he still needs to work on his D game, so maybe Barrie is a comparison? :bigblush:

I don't think the Kings would pick McTavish. They're already very beefy up the middle. I think they go with a skill guy that projects as a wing.

I think there's going to be a lot of people complaining no matter what given how much variation there is in rankings.  I'll trust Benning's judgement over CDC's.

Barrie isn't even good enough to be a number one in the AHL.  Hard no to defensemen who can't play defense.
