I found it interesting that as of a day or two ago Buffalo hadn’t even talked to either Power or Beniers. The beat writer for the Buffalo News thinks they will pick Eklund if they acquire another top ten pick, so maybe that might be the 3rd you’re talking about. If they don’t pick Power or Beniers first I wonder who they’d be after. Wallstedt maybe?

Wasn't it a thing where Edmonton didn't interview Yakapov but still took him 1st overall? Not sure I would read into that too much.

That seems dumb to me. So must be accurate haha

even if it was Conor mcdavo I’d want to interview him before drafting 1st overall.

Eichel is nothing but trouble. Like I said , if a top line player is available you need to ask why.

( injury and attitude)

Buffalo could use a franchise goal tender.

I wonder if Boston has what it takes to get Eichel

There's probably less than 5 Russian Cs in the NHL, not sure about this Svechkov kid. I believe he also plays LW, but still, getting Shirokov vibes.

Predicted Ceiling:  Bottom 6 forward, if he makes the NHL

Hoping for Lucius

normally yes, but Buffalo is a crap show and I can see why he'd want out.

With Edmonton looking to pick up Keith that frees up a lot of cap space. Trading the 11th oa in this draft is a no-brainer, but I wonder if CHI has to give up more picks in 2022? I wouldn't be surprised if there's a conditional 1st in this deal from CHI.

Are you basing this on anything besides superstition?

I don’t necessarily read anything into it, maybe Adams hasn’t got around to it yet. Or maybe they have both been interviewed by now. Maybe he is trying to be coy. Or maybe he’s looking at someone else, which would definitely be interesting.

If we had the first OA and JB was yet to talk to two of the top rated prospects people here would be all over it.

I wasn't sold on taking another Russian in the Top 10 two years in a row to begin with. I watched some video and just came to that conclusion where I don't feel he'll be an impactful NHL player.

Isn’t Evidssin a lot like Broberg and Jurmo?  Guys who have elite skating and are big, but really don’t process the game very well.

Similar to Broberg as he has really good tools and size, Edvinsson is much better defensively than Broberg and he was able to make a big difference on the defensive side of the game at the U18. Just not sure of his offensive upside and makes me a little cautious of using a top 10 pick on him. Some scouts are very high on him though and he is a safe bet to be an NHL defender. If our Euro scouts give you the green light and he is there at 9, zero problem taking him.

Three best players on the best team in NHL right now, 2 russians and a swede. (Kucherov, Vasilevsky, Hedman)

I thought someone would say that haha. For sure. Just in the past I think of teams like Boston, St. Louis come to mind. Teams that were practically all Canadians

Dont get me wrong I would love to have a good ol' Canadian 2 way center or Physical Dman on the team. Already have one of them in Horvat.

Sounds like McTavish is right up your alley though, seems very Canadian, straight out of the bush.
