I would be extremely happy with McTavish, Eklund, Guenther, Johnson, Power, Clarke, Hughes.

Also wouldn't be upset with Svechkov, Lucious, Sillinger, or Lysell.

Damn, so excited if we add one of these guys. C'mon JB if you're reading here I've given you 11 players so you gotta get one.

9th pick is in 9 more days!!!! Wooooooo.

I still think Vancouver trades 9th overall. I think if they can move out cap and also get a young player they will.

It may not look sexy on paper but here is what a think should happen.

To Buf:

9th overall, Louis Eriksson

To Van:

Sam Reinhart

It would usually cost a 1st to just get rid of eriksson so not so bad.

To CBJ:

Nate Schmidt

To Van:

Max Domi

To seattle:

2023 2nd

To van:

They must select antoine Roussel

Cbj will need to replace jones and likely don't mind moving on from Domi. Reunite Domi and Horvat

Sign edler and Hamonic to discounts

Sign Ryan Manta

Hoglander pettersson Boeser

Domi Horvat Reinhart

Pearson Miller Podkolzin

Michaelis Boyd Motte

Hughes Hamonic

Rathbone ?

Edler Mantha

Juolevi

Demko

Holtby

Not sure who our 2nd RD will end up being.

I’m not a fan of Domi.  Plus, he just had shoulder surgery.  I don’t mind the Reinhardt trade, but we would have to see who’s available at 9 before making that trade.

Domi just seems like a hockey trade I could see benning do if schmidt did want out

I see your point, but top four D are worth a lot more than a player like Domi.  I could see Schmidt and 9OA for Seth Jones as a more realistic trade.

Nice.

I like the top 9. Can mix and match to find the ideal line combo.

The D needs fixing.  Finding that RHD will be the challenge.

I don't like the idea of Jones when he's not willing to do an extension prior to a trade.  Given his political beliefs, I would suspect Vancouver won't be a great fit for him off the ice.

What if we had TWO top-10 picks?

Van- Q Hughes, Dipietro, Virtanen(or Rouss)

Det- #6 OA, Zadina/Albert Johansen, Bertuzzi

Our cap-crunch becomes a non-issue. Personally I really believe Rathbone can be a better 200 ft D than QH.

Also strongly feel we'll need size on the blueline to eventually have multiple long PO-runs. JR is built like a fire hydrant, the rest should be 6 ft+, & a couple with snarl.

Stevie Y can reverse the gaffe of his predecessor. Hughes & Seider makes a sexy pair to build from.

Sign Driedger/Ullmark type for a strong 'tender-tandem.

With #6 & #9 OA, we could spend a pick on a fwd & a D

I like it.  Zadina is still a good prospect and has a great shot.

I go on record that in my belief that Buffalo would love to part with their number 1 overall pick for a D-man like Quinn Hughes. Zadina at this point does not hold a candle to Quinn in terms of impact. Ditto, Bertuzzi. If this view gets me the Homer of the Year title, then so be it. :P Alright, flame on!

You’re 100% right, and don’t fret.  No way we trade Huggy Bear.

Partly, but Benn has some serious skill that MacT likely doesn’t have.

Just a reminder Alf

Jamie Benn was a 5th rounder (129th OA)

You gotta let these kids mature before making statements like that

IMO, you can't compare them right now, obviously McTavish has not done what Benn has done

Gotta be some juicy pick in the 3-5th rounds this year with less scouting and playing time
