I have had my eye on this guy for awhile. 6 ft 179 lbs

His offensive game has developed, along side his defensive game

He is moving up the Draft board........best Russian

Well, certainly his game has improved, but that's not why he is moving up the draft board. I've had him in my top 15 since the 5 Nation U17s spring of 2020. I remember being baffled when the first media lists started coming out that summer and nobody had him in their first round. People just weren't paying attention. Usually happens with defensive specialists (see Mukhamadullin or Jake Sanderson last year), as flashy skills are more readily noticeable. Along with Matt Beniers and Cole Sillinger, he's one of the best defensive forwards in the draft. His offensive upside isn't among the best of the class, but I think best case scenario he could be something like a Logan Couture.

On the other side of things, I've been sleeping on McTavish since the 2019 U17s. I didn't see much more than a thick, sturdy NHL body. Still not at all sold on his offensive upside, but he brings enough skills, hockey sense, and aggressiveness to crack my top 20, maybe top 15.

He still shys from physical contact. He plays exactly like quinn style wise just doesnt hit and he's 6'2. If Luke can develop the physical side of his game and throw the odd hit he could be something truly special. I don't think he is comfortable in his large frame quite yet. My concern would be.. what if he never develops the hitting. just my 2 cents tho

Still. Two Hughes is better than one.

Is he Craig MacTavish’s son?

I wonder if he’ll get fathered in to not have to wear a helmet?

Who do you consider to be the big four?

Luke Clarke Edvinsson Power. They are imo the top tier top 8 and beyond expect them to be picked. I continually move guys around on my list but one consistent is for me of they guys left 8-12 I think Lysell ends up our guy.

This sounds like a Canuck pick, regardless of picking position.

"And with the number one pick in the Draft, the Vancouver Canucks are proud to select Fabian...."

WTF? :frantic:

Not big on Lysell, I think you can get guys like him later in the draft. We need a Dman or Center badly.

I don’t mind Lysell, but personally I’d only draft C/D as first rounders of it were up to me.  Wingers can be effective, but a teams strength has and will always be from the net out and down the middle.

Really wasn’t expecting Canucks to be in this position in the standings. I got my wish list happening. Lots of intriguing players.

But realistically Canucks not winning the lotto I would also say Lysell is probably the guy we get. I’d be happy. Jimbo loves the motor guys.

The D guys will be gone by the time Canucks pick. Would love to get Luke or righty Clarke. Those are my top 2 wish listers.

Kid is phenomenal. His skating is some of the most dynamic I've ever seen from a prospect. Unbelievable edges. Practically Antonio Stranges level with the 10-2, but Michkov actually blends it seamlessly into a prodigal all-around game, rather than making it a Globetrotters circus trick. In almost any other draft year I'd say Michkov was a lock for first overall. Anybody think he might pose a serious challenge to Bedard for the top spot?

Why couldn't we be bad next season or the one after. Had to be this draft year. I'm only keen on a few prospects and I don't know much about any else. Next season Wright, Savoie, Lambert, Miroshnichenko are very elite.

Looking at this team and who is at the helm there’s a great chance we’re a bad team next season and the one after that.  Maybe we finally get our 1st over all pick. #firebenning
