Blagh that’s 1am here I’ll probably just catch up in the morning

Yeah a bit late and yet I'm probably daft enough to hang around for the draft...

All the talk of the draft these last 3 weeks has gotten to me, and now I just want to see the rabbit Benning will pull out of the hat... Bring it on...

I think there are Tiers, and the Canucks will get someone in Tier 1 or 2 - unless they go off the board for whatever reason

T-1

Power

Beniers

Eklund

Clarke

Hughes

T-2

Johnson

McTavish

Guenther

Edvinsson

Wallstedt

T-3

Sillinger

Svechkov

Coronato

Lysell

Raty

Lucius

I’d add Lysell into tier 2 , possibly tier 1 considering the steal he will be in a few years

9th OA in play. Which player would you trade the pick for? I like Sam Reinhart but I need a little bit more back.

Otherwise, I hope we get Johnson or Svechkov. We really need centres.

I was saying awhile back Jim wants one of the top 4 dmen if one doesn’t fall to 9 I think he trades 9th and Eriksson for Sam Reinhart. I don’t want that to happen but that’s just my prediction.

Do ya'll see a scenario where Edvinsson falls to 9?

Seems like a great pick.

chances in my point of view are slim.

I think there is good chance that Detroit will pick him at 6.

If he makes it past Detroit I think Los Angeles will take a long look at him. I think they are due for drafting a D-Man with their high 1st round pick after they added three forwards in Vilardi, Turcotte and Byfield to their prospect pool.

Honestly don't have a clue what San Jose is going to do at 7.

Risto commanded a lot in the return. What would Schmidt get?

to CBJ - Schmidt ($ retained?)

to VAN - #25?

Schmidt is worth a mid first round pick. No salary retained.

That's a lot of return for Risto, Philly got fleeced.

Schmidt with cash retained is worth at least a 2nd+ or late first. So I'd be okay with it. I have a feeling cash retained is going to be what seals good deals.

Schmidt has a good contract too.  He’s locked in for four more years.  Risto has only one year left and then will very likely get more than Schmidt is getting.

Jim needs to be careful this year. Next year he could be in the drivers seat.

Almost like it was planned that way.

LOL, nice try.

I'll tell you what. If they decide to be very careful this year and then go full on next year then I will agree that they actually have a plan. However, if they move out assets to try to add anything they can for this year then I will have to think that they are just flying by the seat of their paints.

Wait... do you honestly believe a 725 million dollar organization doesn't have a plan? Nothing written down on a napkin somewhere maybe?
