after reading some scouting reports on Klimovich i've warmed up to the pick. you cant teach size and finish, he's a center with 'heft' lol.

Yeah he has all the tools it appears.  It’s funny to read that his strengths include leadership, hockey IQ etc but that he needs to develop mentally.  I think this speaks to him being an under the radar unknown.  Only time will tell if he puts it together.

The phrase that raised a flag for me was:  average skater

This isn’t promising. Get an elite skating coach kid.

It is essential that you are a good to great skater to be impactful in the NHL.

Didn't Al Arbour tell Bill Torrey it's easier to learn how to check than to score?

Same with skating. That's a skill you can teach. You can't teach offensive and defensive instincts.

It’s interesting to hear Lockhart being selected in his younger years with other top prospects and exceptional status players.  Sounds like the year off just made him a big unknown again.  Never know but sounds like another swing for the fences pick which I think is a sound strategy.

looking toward the 7th rounder now...

Tichacek LHD small skilled good skating defender

Trevor Wong C small skilled vancouver born player

maybe? at this late whatever they choose is all good to me

I'm hoping for Trevor Wong as well. Never mind the fact that he's a Vancouver native. His points per game skyrocketed this year (over a small sample size) and, if I'm not mistaken, captained Spokane.

Edit: sorry, Kelowna. I have Luke Toporowski on the mind, who's another guy I would snag either in the 7th or as an overager signing.

Wong is interesting.

Small centre ranked much higher.

Kelowna Rockets shortened season 16 games and 16 points

regardless 7th round is the perfect spot to pick high risk high reward players

Tichacek is interesting but if we're going LD I'm intrigued by Yaroslav Busygin. Not the most skilled but a solid, extremely physical shutdown guy that projects to be a safe bet as a bottom pairing, PK specialist minimum.

Otherwise go with Wong, under sized but very high skill. Very much boom or bust but that's what 7th rounders are good for.
