30. This depends on what happens with the border, but there is talk that Canadian-based NHL teams with U.S.-based AHL affiliates are considering moving them north of the 49th for the 2020–21 season. That’s Calgary/Stockton; Edmonton/Bakersfield; and Vancouver/Utica. It makes sense, because a quarantine period would mean you can’t call up players. Not sure if those teams would be based out of the NHL buildings or centralized, but it is something these three organizations must prepare for.

This also drastically impacts the ECHL as well as all teams are located in the US.

Either affiliates follow too or you will see more PTOs, ATOs, and AHL contract signings for AHL teams particularly those in the Canadian division, because they won't have the ability to recall guys from the ECHL when they get depleted.  Considering our team, the Comets frequently called up players from the Kalamazoo and other ECHL affiliates to fill gaps when the Canucks depleted Utica.

The answers simple.  Canada should just become the 51st state of the U.S.A.  No problem with the borders then. ::D

Fork!

I just about passed out trying to hold my puke back reading this.

No farting way!

We should build a border wall.  (And get Covid Don to pay for it!)
