AV.
Another 20 pt forward for league minimum? But I was told these types of signings are impossible to make? Makes you wonder... 1 1
ruilin96
Really shot ourselves in the foot with those Beagle, Roussel, Sutter and Baertchi contracts. I am not including LE in this one as at the time of the signing, if we didn't give him 6x6 someone else will. However, Beagle, Roussel, Sutter and Baertchi likely could've all been signed for fewer dollars + term.
Patrick Kane
Thought it said Dominik Kahun for a second. Simon is good too.

CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Calgary adding some good secondary scoring with Simon, a lil surprised Pittsburgh chose not to QO him.

Makes you wonder... https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/players/dominik-simon Got 10 of those points in the 1st quarter of the season playing mostly alongside Crosby. Had time with Malkin as well. Doesn't PK or play much PP. Doesn't play much center. Saw his deployment shifted to less time with the top players over the course of the year. Makes you wonder how he will perform without the elite players like Crosby and Malkin. 1
oldnews
I thought they might prefer a more bottom six, hard minutes type over Simon. 58.5% offensive zone starts, 53.1% corsi 7g, 15a 22 pts, -9, 64 games. Crosby was his most frequent linemate.... .900 on ice sv% 2.4 on ice goals for, 2.9 against. Not really a penalty killer, not very good goal metrics in context....26 yrs old... meh. Look at it this way, without Lu's retirement gift, those contracts aren't even close to being an issue.

That's why I am against retiring Lu's number 1. I will still be Lu's fan and I will root for him doing whatever his doing, but I won't vote to have his number retire on the Canucks because of this. He could've chosen LTIR easily with all the injuries he had late in his career. 1

Ya, in another thread I had the temerity to suggest Calgary had the cap space to really take advantage of this market and flesh out the rest of their roster with some solid. legit NHL level players at $700k each. Got "flamed" for it. This is the exact type of signing I was suggesting they could do. They are going to have some really decent depth with a couple more of these guys. That is going to be really useful in a compressed season. They could have three players in their bottom six making $2.1 million combined who will contribute more than guys we will have sitting in the minors making several times that amount. Timråfan
He seems to have been Penguins Loui. Sane position wise and prefered by Crosby. Can't score but can circulate up and down the lines.

The famous Nordstrom thread? Yeah, I saw that "conversation" lol. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to think that the standard or barometer for how other teams do their business is based on how the Canucks do things
