WELCOME BACK # 47 TOREY KRUG!

The Terrier Hockey Fan Blog: Quinn joins Team USA staff; Terrier recruits spark World U18 win--UPDATED

The New Jersey Devils are extremely pleased to welcome back defenseman Torey Krug for another five years! Being a key player and person within the organization over the past eight and a half years, it was paramount we ensured that Torey and his family were taken care of. That he could have the security and commitment from the organization moving forward to afford him his role as a top pair and key cog in the bigger picture here with an aim and follow through of being a Perennial contender in New Jersey.

Initially signed into the CDCGML by the Devils on July 13th, 2012 by then agent Squeak for a what now seems to be a paltry deal of 3 years @ $ 1.4m per season Torey joined the team for the Playoff run in 2012/13 and has never looked back. Year after year a top contributor on the club, he has never missed the Playoffs and has played a key part in the team's successes throughout the years.

The Devils would like to thank Mr Krug and his representation for the time involved in finding a deal that extends this relationship at the least another half decade, now let's bring on more success!

Thank you.

EXTENSION: The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Kirill Kaprizov to a one year contract extension.

Very pleased to get Kirill Kaprizov signed to a 1 year extension.  We have been thoroughly impressed with his NHL rookie campaign where he leads the leagues rookies in points. His arrival in Minnesota in the NHL has done wonders to their club. This one year extension will give both sides time to determine an appropriate long term extension. Happy to have you signed for one more year Kirill! You have been a welcomed addition to our franchise.

CBJ will continue to work on extensions for several key RFA/UFAs. For now though our focus shifts back to the ice as we have some ground to make up in this difficult central division.

Go Jackets Go!

A great day to kick off the beginning of the Kraken!

We eagerly pursued Morgan from Los Angeles, to the Kraken... we are glad to come to terms, and it seems our timing and goals, and his, are on pace.

We believe Morgan has all of the qualities we would look for in a player, as is shown by his Hobey Baker nomination. Hailing from Cornel like other such greats as Ken Dryden, Joe Nieuwendyk and Andy Bernard, we expect a heady player with solid work ethic on both ends, which is certainly a good foundation for a new organization.

If we had to pick a first player to sign, we feel Morgan is a strong footing to move forward on. Look out boys, the Kraken just got Kraken.

I do know how good he was. Weisbrod thought Jankowski had that potential when he drafted him as well.

Ahhh I see...

Nieuwendyk was one of my favourite players when I was growing up.  Linden, Nieuwendyk, Fleury, Tikkanen, Howerchuk, Yzerman and Sakic.
