Congratulations!! Damn I was leaning @theo5789 for a while and last minut changed to @Sludge. I think the Vilardi steal is what really made me change my mind. @Squeak was also a very strong consideration as well. Great job guys! 2

Rush17
Congrats to Kirill Kaprizov on winning the Calder Trophy. This is Columbus' first ever individual player award in the franchises storied history. Only two other players for CBJ have ever won a player award both happen to be goalies - John Gibson (2015/16) and Robin Lehner (2019-20) who both won a shared William Jenning Awards. The team's most successful run however was under former GM @Ty Webb who took the team to 2 cup finals and even won the team the greatest trophy of them all. The GML Championship! Kudos to Kirill and Kudos to @Ty Webb for the previous championship and for turning that FLA team over is such quick fashion. You will be a team to contend with in no time I am sure. Please check out the GML Archives it is full of rich GML history. I personally love giving it a look every now and again. It is remarkable the history of the league and I really appreciate Mike taking the initiative to build such a comprehensive league history. Sincere thanks to everyone who voted for me and big shout out to all the GMs, there was a real sense of hunger this year and some really exciting decisions were made that will have league wide impacts making things interesting for years to come. Popular Post theo5789
First and foremost, congratulations to my fellow GMs @Sludge and @Squeak for the shared honour. Also thanks to all the GMs that voted for me and appreciated the work that we have done over the past year here. As a rookie GM here, our expectations weren't high. Our ultimate goal was to take a team that finished 6th from last and build a playoff team. We knew we needed to revamp the roster and the entire organization. We recognized a couple core pieces that we wanted to build around and went from there. We made rookie mistakes of course on the way, but they were all well intentioned moves to get us in the right direction. The team just started hot from the get-go, remained steady and then surged up late in the year. We now likely finish the regular season with a President's trophy. Couldn't be more proud of the team. Another area of focus was the prospect pool. We basically had none when I joined the Flyers organization. So we took some regular season risks to try and bolster this area. I think we had a decent prospect pool now with at least 12 more picks in the upcoming draft. So while we are elated with how this season has gone, we know there is a lot more work ahead to build sustainability. We hope that we have built a good environment for our players and hope that we can continue our vision to build a successful team for the long haul and hopefully a championship sooner than later. I would also like to thank my Mom and Da....*cut the mic, cue the music and go to commercial break* 3 2

Mike Vanderhoek
Congratulations to this year's awards winners! @Squeak was my vote for GM of the year, it has been an easy out to vote a top team's GM as the GM of the year in past I have noted, but while all three are deserving winners and hats off. Arizona built a strong team, identified targeted teams and players, and added accordingly by the trade deadline all while maintaining a very solid prospect pool.

What a weird year. But the odds of any playoff match-up changing... yeah it's not likely. So that bracket is likely accurate. 1
