Bure1010 73
Jeez how bad are aqua mans finances. He’s gotta get rid of the anthem singer? Probably saved $500 a home game though. Good for you aquilini family. Hahaha Edited December 5, 2020 by Bure1010

Is he fired for that? His job is to sing the anthem. I don't give an F what he thinks about masks or anything else. And did he say he wants people to not wear them or he just wants people to have a choice? Fauci told everyone to not wear a mask at the start. I figure he ought to be held to a higher standard if indeed opinions about masks are relevant to employment and there is no discussion to be had about it. Well look at the Aqualini's twitter and post about covid, they don't want to be associated with anti-maskers. While Fauci did say that, I am sure that a shortage of PPE for the majority of the population was probably the one of the reasons why but I am not going to get into this on a hockey forum. 2 4 4

Probably due to supply issues (so that medical personnel would have an adequate supply of them). There's a "morality clause" of sorts in NHL player contracts. It ain't that huge a stretch to have them apply to other employees of a NHL club. 1 2

Then how about say nothing instead of giving an actual contradiction of what the apparent correct policy is supposed to be.
Popular Post rychicken 6,173
The day he made singing the anthem about himself and skated around the ice, tripping over the carpet, I lost all respect for him. Kudos to the Canucks organization for making a stand Good riddance.... 5 2 7 1 2

Well anyway, I guess wait until the first time you have a similar different opinion from more powerful people about something that has nothing to do with your job performance and see how it goes for your livelihood and if you feel the same then. 2 1 6 2

I loved Donnelly as our singer, but Marie Hui is a more than satisfactory replacement. At the end of the day, Aquilini thinks employing him after publicly performing at this event damages his brand; he's more than within his rights to fire someone who is extremely replaceable. 1

I mean it ain't even a firing. Pretty sure anthem singers are gig work that is paid per performance rather than on a contract or on a salary.
