Hamilton would reduce the travel schedule by a huge amount in a condensed season

it would, but that city is :sick: but it would make being in a bubble easier, no one would want to go anywhere outside of the hotel

true dat. Hamilton is just a big Regina.

It would be nice tho if they put the Canucks in a smaller town to help out a smaller local economy, maybe something like Red Deer or Brandon.

So do we have to go out and get another goalie? I'd think they'd like to leave Mikey D in the AHL vs the taxi group, for his development to continue properly.

This guy has a perfect record against the Leafs and can drive the Zamboni to !  :)

Gotta carry at least 3 goalies. So yeah, decisions will need to be made

Feels unlikely.   Same arguments already given by Bettman this summer - not set up for the NHL with all the cameras, boards, stat recording etc but also all the sanitisation procedures.  Also need the high end hotels not only for the Canucks but the visiting teams.

well, that does create a problem then... what city has that to spare?

Today we have:

13 flights from Toronto;

12 flights from Edmonton;

26 flights from Calgary

All these cities have  higher case counts than Vancouver.

Nevertheless, it is OK for people from ON and AB to jump on the plane, come here (no quarantine), and go shopping in our crowded malls or do whatever they want.

At the same time, it is not OK for NHL teams (all personel tested constantly) to travel on chartered jet, go nowhere except rink and hotel (and bring extra $$ to the economy in the process)

Makes zero sense, but maybe I can't understand something here?

It's too bad Climate Pledge isn't ready.  It would be fun breaking in their new building for them.

Meanwhile the raptors are having fans starting next week.

Raptors "home" games are in Tampa.

People trying to compare going to the mall  for food, and playing proffessional hockey is funny.

While at the mall you are to wear a mask and do your best to stay 6 feet away from everyone.

Hockey is a contact, close quarters sport.

Apples and Airplanes. Both have at least one a,l,p,e, and s but are vastly differnt things.

Getting food at the mall... i prefer to food shop at a grocery store..

More physical  contact  / aggression.  at the mall during xmas shopping than we have seen at Canucks games the last few years......
