Ok. It is based on income level so the people that don't qualify, based on 2019 income levles, are well over the threshold of likely needing additional support (ie: over 87K for individual of 175K for family) I think this is more a blanket support measure rather than targeting specific groups. everyone is hurting.

Popular Post Dazzle
You know what's weird is that people SHOULD be happy that the provincial government is issuing money to help people stay afloat. Yet so much negativity is drawn on the Feds for doing the exact same thing with CERB. Seems like people are just looking at the party name... 5

You would have an aneurism of you saw what the UK government has spent on COVID measures and financial support. allowed companies to place workers of furlough in April and the government payed 80% of the wage. (At certain points the company had to pay PAYE and NI contributions at other times they didn’t). Self employeed and business owners was dealt under a separate scheme. it’s a difficult time pretty much where ever you are and the view would be that the money would go to help support people who need it, and if there are some that get it that could have made by without it chances are they will go spend it which helps prop up the economy. Yes it will have to be paid back through tax at some point but that can be dealt with later, but keeping people and businesses afloat is important as it keeps tax revenue coming in, than people dropping through the cracks in the system and paying in nothing, and complies folding with tax liabilities that won’t get paid and future receipts not being earned Edited December 13, 2020 by UKNuck96
