nothing to be paranoid about. both articles state that 300K people died to corona in the title, then 285k in the body and then finally lower itsays 1/3 were caused by other means. so if you can follow along with me, it's misleading at best and most certainly poorly written. now who has to lose and gain from this news, there is an election coming up right?

Well, I am an American who has resided through 4 years of a Trump presidency, so I find this statement quite relevant and ironic at the same time.

long term is not the same as permanent. some people may be okay with having  a bunged up lung for a few years, if its the differnce of working or sitting at home

Come on man...good god read your post again...no one and I mean no one would be ok with a damaged lung.

No I am not good with that. You are assuming every single person in Canada gets COVID-19 before a vaccine is released? I’ll give you the ole Joe Biden “C’mon man!”

ok, so lets lift all restrictions then.  Have mass parties, lets watch hockey at rogers with 20K in the stands.  Lets see what happens.  50%? is 100k deaths still ok to you?

I actually haven’t been told information regarding this. Can you please elaborate? Depending on the severity of that point could adjust my position on this.

No one here is a medical expert on Covid.  We rely on the advice of Credible Medical Experts.  No Credible Medical Expert is willing to compare this to the common Flu.  Get it?

if it comes to living on the streets, and having a bunged up lung? do you know how hard it is to get off the streets? being unemployed is not an option for some. so yes i stand by my statement. many people do not want another  shutdown they simply cannot afford it

203k from the article you provided, nothing showing anything people not seeking medical attention. anything else?

I could care less if you believe me or not but hopefully you can read.

Others are probably the result of deaths at home or in nursing homes from heart attacks, diabetes, strokes and Alzheimer’s disease, among people afraid to seek care in hospitals or unable to get it.

Well HIV is said to kill millions of people around the world too right? But HIV usually weakens the body so much that some other disease gets the killing blow. If you're going to be splitting hairs like you're doing, are you going to say that pneumonia is deadlier than HIV?

https://www.aidsmap.com/news/jun-2011/breathtaking-mortality-bacterial-pneumonia-and-hiv

"Ever stopped to think about the top reason people with HIV end up in intensive care? Heart attack? Liver problems? Accidents? No, pneumonia. David McLay investigates an illness that scores high on the morbidity and mortality charts but gets relatively little attention.

‘The old man’s friend’, they call pneumonia, because it’s often a relatively painless coup de grâce at the end of a long life. But this image of the lung disease belies the fact that it can strike people at any age, and kill quickly if not recognised and treated. The good news is that there are things you can do to reduce the risk and treat it."

Corona is very deadly, and the effects of it are unpredictable.

probablies are not facts. how many people die because they cant afford it, the economy is trending weaker year by year. i think people losing thier medical insurance and job would cause even more deaths and harm. i don't like the way the pandemic is handled in us, but i think keeping the economy open is more important than many may think.

listen, im not oblivious to the fact that getting a infectious disease is very harmful to your health. the few stance's i have on coronavirus is, follow the government recommendations. wash your hands, socially distance and wear a mask, but i dont agree with shutting down the economy again. the first shutdown was to learn about how to live with the virus, we have so lets get on with it.

I agree that a shutdown of the economy sucks. That being said, if people stopped &^@#ing around with their huge crowds, we wouldn't even have to consider this option.

No universal health care would fix that problem. However Americans are too afraid of socialism and too stupid to fix it.
Imagine being afraid of socialism. Afraid of old age security, afraid of town councils,  afraid of condo boards or unemployment insurance. All forms of socialism. I could list many others.

Trump and his gangsters sow fear and division to cloud the truth.

What's funny is that their one of their greatest presidents of all time, Roosevelt, employed the most "socialist" policies to restart the economy after the Depression. Stuff like Employment insurance and other safety nets were from this time period.

It's sad how they forget their own history, and have been manipulated to believe in a system that works AGAINST the people.

Probably not a good idea.  This is from 5 days ago ( sorry if it's been already posted).

Indoor sports potential superspreader events, CDC says, after most ice hockey players in Florida game infected with Covid-19

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/10/15/health/covid-spread-hockey-rink/index.html

The game was played on June 16 at an ice rink in Tampa and by the following day, a player, considered the index patient, experienced symptoms of Covid-19, including fever, cough, sore throat and a headache. Two days later, he tested positive for the virus, the Florida Department of Health reported.

Each team had 11 players, all male, between the ages of 19 and 53, with six on the ice and five on the bench at any given time during the game, the researchers reported. Each team also shared separate locker rooms, typically for 20 minutes before and after the 60-minute game, and no one wore cloth face masks for disease control.

"During the five days after the game, 15 persons experienced signs and symptoms compatible with coronavirus disease 2019; 13 of the 15 ill persons had positive laboratory test results indicating infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19," researchers wrote. Two of the sick individuals did not get tested.

Looks like bubble hockey for the next while.
