John Horgan's going to make an announcement this morning (around 10'ish/10:30)

Announcement?  Or simply a rehash of everything we already know... Blah blah blah, we will get through this together... Blah blah blah

True.  "Making an appearance" versus "doing something".  We'll see....not holding my breath.

Exactly!

Right now they have no back up/enforcement and it will empower business owners (who won't be targeted for "their" decision if it's a Province ordered decision).  They're being asked to "decide" for themselves and being left high and dry in that at the moment.

People know (by now)....there are some who like to party and they won't be inconvenienced in it all.  From the accounts we're getting, it's transmission mostly in private groups who then take it elsewhere.  It's so irresponsible and selfish.

I'm losing patience in it all....I lost a job in March, have seen my kids a handful of times and we've all worn masks indoors for the brief interactions we have had.  My Dad is struggling and I'm terrified every time I go there (I have to, as his only caregiver).  I'm sick of the excuses...at this point, everyone needs to be on board and those who aren't need to be addressed.  We're all tired of this thing, it's frustrating when idiots won't comply.

I share your frustration Deb. My sister is extra careful, but has 4 grandchildren. She takes care of two them part of the time. With  recommendations and discussions with her family she had to miss her Granddaughters 8th birthday in Victoria. In addition my Sister-in-Law's Mother is very old and has health issues. It's hard for my sister-in-law to explain to her Mom whats going on, and why she can't see her as much. I have to say I'm happy my brother is building a place on Galiano. At least he is around less people.

We're in the middle of probably the worst of it. Nothing bothers me like people who post of Facebook saying "It's just a flu", or other such BS.

Hiring private security is not the answer. They aren't trained for bylaw type enforcement. Malls and stores are one thing. I wouldn't want a private security firm handing out tickets.

they don't have to hand out tickets, just enforce the mandate at stores.  If a person causes a scene security calls the police to deal with them.  We don't let children get their way when they throw a tantrum, we shouldnt let adults either

So we really don't need to see her on TV every day then, do we?  Pass the numbers to the news outlets and they can report them.

Taxpayers are paying 25 K a month for her  cute jingles and NDP re-election photos./ videos... organized by the private North Van PR firm...  we want our money's worth....

have to disagree here. My daughter works in a small retail shop and it would really help them with compliance. She's all of ~110 lbs and there's no way some dudebro is going to listen to her. If they had some help to hire a guard at the front entrance that would probably prevent the non mask wearers from coming in.

lets hope its a good one. He needs to step it up, he ran a covid election so lets get some real action here. The numbers are going to be out of control soon. I'm tired of hearing people make excuses for him like this was all inevitable.

With a possible vaccine on the horizon it feels like when Quint tells Chief and Hooper that waiting in line for his turn to get out of the water and into the P.B 9 was the worst part of the ordeal.

You don't copy the losers,' says doctor pushing 'COVID-zero' strategy

Dr. Andrew Morris is calling on Canada to implement an "aggressive" national strategy to replace the country's surging COVID-19 numbers with a single digit — zero.

Morris is an infectious disease specialist at Toronto's Sinai Health System and University Health Network. He says skyrocketing coronavirus numbers in multiple provinces are proof that Canada's piecemeal approach to the pandemic is doomed to fail.

He's one of several health-care professionals across the country calling on officials to implement whatever measures it takes to reduce transmission and infection rates to nothing at all. They're calling it "COVID zero." It's an idea that Morris says his colleague Dr. Irfan Dhalla proposed back in May.

Ha...as I type this a news report about a $2300 fine for a 30 person poker party...no masks, no distancing.  So they can do it when there are clear guidelines (which, right now are just about gatherings).

I'm trying to picture a table of poker players all wearing masks? You don't need to have your poker face on!!

Hopefully those seeking a mandatory mask policy will get some good news. I’m doubtful but hopeful some helpful  measures are announced.

I'm hoping that all students are required to wear masks, not just grade 6 and up

She was one of the primary architects of the back to school plan.........if she's not capable of dispensing safety advice in a simple situation like that, why was the return to school plan based on her medical expertise?

everyone seems to forget what the teacher was asking here is the conversation again.

Quinn: Dr Henry, I've got a question here for someone who tweeted me and she writes 'Please ask Dr. Henry, how would she protect herself if she was a teacher? Would you still work one-on-one with a child? Would you stay distanced at all times?

Henry: Well I'm not a teacher, although I have teachers in my family and I think you need to understand your own risk, and there are things that we can do in the classroom setting and yes, there are ways to safely have that one-on-one contact with the child, but teachers know how best to do that in their classrooms.

Quinn: But we have a teacher seeking advice here asking what to do.

Henry: They should be seeking advice from their teaching collegues who understand the situation. We put in the health basics and [at] each school there's principals, there's teachers, who are there to support their community.

She answered the question intially,  when asked for clarification, again she answered follow the guidelines. it was impossible for Henry to clarify further. The questions are super vague, do you know how many different possibilities there could be with the question of working one on one with a child? lets name a few, sports, advice, demonstrations, discipline, caring for a injury...etc. the answer is complicated, the questions are vague and cant be clarified because it comes from a tweet.

1. i never said she wasnt capable, i said there is better canditates for the discussion and that having the conversation sets precedence. why lie

 about what i say?

2. there is nothing simple about the conversation, it involves lives, liability, precedence and the simple fact speach is easily misconstrued and Maybe, she might not have had time for the discussion and was being tactical in her response

3.she is most certainly the best canditate for the return to school plan, she holds that position for a reason. but it wasn't her alone coming up with the plan, it involved many people and a large amount of hours from medical experts and teaching professional alike.

So hearing Horgan, basically just gonna carry on as usual... I'll put down good money we will be 2000 to 3000+ cases per day some time in December.

The economy is taking priority at this point... I'm not sure what else could be the case.
