kingofsurrey
Weak sauce Canada.... Frey worried that sitting near passengers who had visited resorts in Mexico could increase his chances of being exposed to the virus. "People going to an all-inclusive resort during a pandemic, that's inherently irresponsible," he said. "So it's obvious that health is not their primary concern." When Canadian passengers take domestic flights during the COVID-19 pandemic, they may be sharing the cabin with international travellers on a connecting flight who have yet to quarantine. Although many travellers entering Canada must quarantine for 14 days, they don't have to start the process until reaching their final destination — as long as they have no COVID-19 symptoms. When asked about this policy, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) told CBC News that the risk of COVID-19 transmission on a plane is relatively low compared to other enclosed settings. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/international-travellers-air-passengers-flights-quarantine-covid-19-1.5826948
bishopshodan
Oh, just read that Donnelly is an anti-choicer too. Maybe he is just anti everything that makes sense. Have another skate over a carpet Mark. Maybe a little faster and harder next time. 1

The risk is mostly in the airports in my opinion. 1

The Wall Street Journal cited a study that found an increased risk of catching the cold by as high as 20 percent, while another study in the Journal of Environmental Health Research found that colds may be 113 times more likely to be transmitted on a plane than during normal daily life on the ground.Dec 23, 2019 Edited December 5, 2020 by kingofsurrey

He knew 100% when he made the decision it might affect his employment/reputation, and he doubled down on anti-science bull$&!#. Thanks for that. I listened to the entire interview which can be found here: https://www.tsn.ca/radio/vancouver-1040/donnelly-there-s-room-for-debate-on-public-policy-1.1560311 From the sounds of things, the Canucks didn't get in touch directly with Donnelly to let him know he would no longer be singing the anthem before the tweet. And, as I said, I think that dismissing by tweet is cold. I'll also miss hearing him sing the anthem.

There's consequences for your behavior.....but some seem to think that's not a thing these days! If i run a red light (with a camera), i expect to get a ticket, but some have the nerve to fight things like that. How f'd up is that mentality!!

From the sound of things, he also understood the consequences he'd likely face and that didn't matter to him. Thing is, there was hardly time to do it any other way....likely the Canucks org wanted to disassociate from him before the event so he wouldn't use his affiliation to connect them in any way. During that interview, he got louder and a bit more belligerent as it went on...I sense arrogance there. It wouldn't surprise me if I learned he'd brought it to the team and when they were opposed to it, he didn't give a hoot. Just a guess, but I can see it playing out that way. And in knowing that Canucks COO Trent Carroll made a statement yesterday to clarify that he, by no means, represented the team I'd guess there was a conversation. Or at least he was aware they weren't supportive....bottom line is, he likely knew it went against what the organization is about. He owns it and I don't care if that "you're done" message was dropped on his head via drone. 1 2 1

If you can't even so much as practice what you preach (banning large gatherings and following through with it) I have less than zero respect for them. What kind of a crappy world do we live in now that, with our tax dollars, they're just paid to do PR and not actually enforce things for our city's good? It's people and situations like these that make me want to just not give a crap about the authorities' empty words. I'd rather watch stand-up if I wanted to hear a good joke from a joker. This doesn't sound like it was an isolated incident for him at all.

That Trump woman is infuriating. They all are. I'm curious as to how many out of towners came in to spread their message/germs here. I'd like to escort them home personally.
