I am with @Alflives on this one. Social distancing sucks. I am also currently at the peak of my masculine prowess, not going to lose one of my (few) good years because of no damn virus. Easier for middle-aged married folks to stay at home. I will just be careful to not breathe on some old people.

"Masculine prowess"

your older parents gave up years when you were a kid. Now you say thanks by risking their age group's health?

That's questionable. My parents seem less concerned than I am. My dad can't and won't be locked up, if anything he is more likely to infect me/rest of the family than the other way around.

I'm the opposite. I love this social distancing. I like people to stay the F away . Personal space has always been important to me.

I also liked Alf more when he was whinging about coach Green every 5 seconds or even going on about socialism... those were more bearable broken records.

What if this virus mutates and everyone becomes high risk?

If you don't have any symptoms at all then there is no need to.  And BC has more cases than Nevada so he should be asking you that question.

Just because you don’t have symptoms doesn’t mean your not a carrier. That is why the government is saying to Quarantine no matter what. You can be a carrier and give it to someone else and they can get really sick or potentially die. It’s pretty irresponsible to have the mentality that “ it’s not going to happen to me or anyone I know because of me”.  Btw Nevada employees are being tested and there has been an increase in positive cases in employee’s. We all need to be proactive. If you travel quarantine even if you don’t have symptoms because you might be a carrier of the virus.

There is quarantining and then self-distancing.  Big difference.  Experts recognize that asymptomatic people are spreading but they caution that it is not the main driver.  What is are pre-symptomatic and symptomatic people.   I am in Tokyo and people are out and about.   You are being extreme.

This.

It may be speculation but I've read for every confirmed case of Covid-19 there may be 5-10 unconfirmed/no signs of infection cases moving about society. This is the reason for everyone to take precautions.

It cannot be understated that containment is the priority.

Of course they are.

I wish this virus just took out the lowest common denominator. That would be a cull that I could understand, the people that put the rest of us at risk, those people that refuse to listen to experts.

no read more carefully.  Without symptoms do spread but experts believe they are not the main driver.  Pre and symptomatic people are the major drivers.   Again here in Tokyo life is moving on.

This! It also skews the % of deaths.

As of right now I don't see enough reason to interrupt everything in my life just to lock myself away. That was my point. I understand people's worries but I am otherwise healthy and will take precautions like washing hands. Of course I will react to things as they change, so if it gets way worse then there will be some cause for additional measures like masks. Its absolutely mind-numbing to sit at home without a single sport to watch.

A guy in my building got his leg amputated last year, is diabetic and still smokes. Some people just don't care.
