It's kind of how I roll...I'm totally in my element. Thing is, no one's saying we have to climb into a dark cave...go for a bike ride. A walk. Put on some music and grab some free weights. We're really only limited by our own lack of creativity. If you can't do some things, do some others. Yeah, I enjoy my own company very much, but I do understand that there are many (particularly the young) that find it very uncomfortable. This is a difficult time for them and things may get a lot worse. I appreciate their efforts in trying to adhere to the guidelines.

Our government is following scientific advice. Yes, thats not perfect. But its better than guessing or going off your own whims, you simply can't have all the information at hand that they do. Its not about "control" its about doing what most experts think will save the most lives. While you're enjoying those rights take a moment to think about the older folks in our society that ensued you have them. Shift-4
I learned a good thing today about this whole situation. It's great for warding off door to door sales guys. He showed up and I said "I'm not taking anything." Meaning I didn't want to buy anything. He sheepishly took two steps back and asked if I am under quarantine. I said I don't want anything. He said goodbye. Victory! 1

Popular Post DonLever
Some people on this thread are very selfish. They don't care about others except themselves They claim they have rights and that no government can tell them what to do. Sure, you have rights, but you also have responsibilities. Just because you don't have the virus or are young and healthy does not let you off the hook for endangering the lives of others, especially the old and the vulnerable. And remember, you will be old one day too and what goes around, comes around. Edited March 17, 2020 by DonLever 2 8

Can't talk you out of your thinking. You don't need to base on what the leaders say. You can try to contact someone you trust like your personal doctor. But if you really care about your life only and no one else's because you don't trust anything, at least understand you can still transmit the virus while not being ill or a few days before you start to exhibit symptoms. It is different from SARS, where infectiousness tends to be during symptomatic phase. Hope you and your family doesn't need the hospitals and drs in the next few months, since they are all too busy because people like you didn't trust anything and help to spread the disease and overwhelm the healthcare system. Try to do that surgery or lifesaving procedure that you may need on your own. We don't need you to putting others at risk either. Do you obey traffic signs, or just run through red lights becuase you don't believe in others taking your rights away? If you choose to live in a society then you have to adhere to the laws. Because if everyone thinks like you, the result is more death to the society. Remove yourself from society if you want to live whatever you feel like doing. You can't have it both ways. It's a big picture mentality that we need here...not an immediate gratification (or being stripped of) thing. So you don't have anyone vulnerable and in the high risk category...you can still break your leg out doing what you do and the system could be pretty maxed out when you need it. If people just go about their business because no one can tell them what to do. Until they need treatment and someone tells them to get in line...

There's no point in trying to convince someone like this, as it's merely giving them narcissistic supply, which is what they crave and feed off of. 2

And remember, you will be old one day too and what goes around, comes around. True. While age is a huge risk factor, young adults do get very sick and will be hospitalized. Some will die too, but in a much smaller percentage. Our hospitals have seen 20 and 30 year old getting really sick, needing ventilators. So far we don't have a good way to predict why some young and previously healthy adults get that sick and some don't. The virus also attacks the heart and causes inflammation, and so it is not just lungs. The testicles also have receptors for the virus, and effects on fertility are still too early to tell. Maybe that will make young men think more about it. Public health meausres only really work when everyone participates. A government can't do it by itself. If they say self isolate and you don't believe them and keep on spreading, it will be useless.

So you know, everyone gets to sleep in on Saturday!! Seems many groups are altering their plans........... ISIS tells terrorists to steer clear of coronavirus-stricken Europe Terror group advises hand washing rather than attacks on the West. By Aitor Hernández-Morales 3/15/20, 12:51 PM CET Updated 3/15/20, 1:05 PM CET Islamic State (ISIS) has adopted a safety-first approach to the coronavirus pandemic and advised its members not to travel to Europe, Homeland Security Today reported. In the latest edition of the terrorist group’s al-Naba newsletter, the editors who normally urge followers to carry out attacks on the West instead ask them to "stay away from the land of the epidemic" for the time being. In a full-page infographic on the back cover, a list of pro-tips instructs militants on how to stop the pandemic's spread. ISIS members are advised to "put trust in God and seek refuge in Him from illnesses," but to also "cover the mouth when yawning and sneezing," and to wash their hands frequently. Those who believe they might have contracted coronavirus are told to stay away from areas under ISIS control in order to preserve the health of others and fulfil the holy "obligation of taking up the causes of protection from illnesses and avoiding them." https://www.politico.eu/article/coronavirus-isis-terrorists-europe/ Edited March 17, 2020 by nuckin_futz

This situation is unprecedented, there is no handbook that these people are reading out of. The people in charge of making decisions are the likes of Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau, neither of them are epidemiologists. Not to mention these politicians are balancing their own personal interests (ie. getting re-elected) with the general public's health. Why hasn't the US border been shut down? Because it would cost Canada far too much be economically viable. All I am saying is that the general public has the same considerations, not everyone can stay at home. Some people have bills to pay, mortgages etc. They too have to balance self-interest (survival) with the general public's health. I provided you with plenty of links for information not coming from politicians. You have purposefully ignored them and purposefully ignored other pieces of information that don't fit with the way you want the world to be. I'm embarrassed for you. You're not so young that you can be justified in being this stupid.
