I just support all the major religions and god. Just not committed to any religion atm… maybe Islam in the future or

Christianity idk.

Russia orders a one-week lockdown with covid cases at record high

Vaccine hesitancy a big problem in Russia

 

There's a growing belief that we're in the final throws of the covid pandemic but that's not the case in Russia, where Putin today ordered everyone to stay home from work from Oct 30 to Nov 7.

 

The rising cases in the UK are another worry.

 

The hope is that low vaccinations rates make Russia an outlier. Only 31% of people there are fully vaccinated.

Never really thought about that. Then again, before this pandemic I didn't think about viruses much at all.

 

If I worked in an environment where my sickness could potentially have catastrophic impact on the people that I was supposed to be helping and healing, I would obviously get the flu shot/vaccinated. 

 

So, I would support mandatory vaccinations for all health workers. Not just the covid vax but everything that could be contagious and potentially harmful for vulnerable patients.

Once approved, it won't be simply drawing a smaller dose from the vials that adults use.  The reduced dosage also involved a change in the components.

can't come soon enough.  The following is unconfirmed, as we don't get any imformation at the teacher level.

 

Yesterday we had a short staff meeting to inform us that one of our students stepdad had died that weekend of an "undisclosed medical illness" and that there were unsubstantiated covid rumours and they can't confirm one way or another.  On the school's PAC fb page, it was posted that it was covid, but was removed.  We still don't know one way or the other, but the student was in isolation to start the school year.  Of course, because they weren't reporting that in sept, we don't know, for sure

It's crazy talking to students at my school. The ones that don't want to get vaccinated think their online research is thorough and all think the vaccine is more dangerous than Covid.  That the vaccine doesn't work and that the government is using this as some sort of population cull because the world has too many people living on it .Needless to say, we've been discussing critical thinking skills and the importance of reputable sources.

Working the other day, I ran in to a guy on disability for actual head injuries.

 

He was telling me all about how he did his own research too and ran through the same, top talking points that we're all too familiar with. Adding the 'government wants to poison our children' one and then going off on a Trudeau didn't really win the election and tangent about Soros...

 

Him I feel a bit bad for. Guy is literally brain damaged. He gets my empathy (if also some mental face palming at the same time).

We're thinking this parents death is going to straighten a few people out.  We are a community school with one bus, everyone else lives within walking distance........we all know each other well and this will shake a lot of people up 

 

I'm sick to my stomach for the girl, who is in grade 3, as her step dad was the only male figure in her life, outside of school.

B.C. COVID-19 pandemic update:

 

As of Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, 89.4% (4,141,865) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 83.8% (3,883,585) received their second dose.

 

In addition, 89.8% (3,884,354) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 84.4% (3,652,493) received their second dose.

 

B.C. is reporting 715 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 200,249 cases in the province.

 

There are 4,965 active cases of COVID-19 in the province and 192,819 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 377 individuals are in hospital and 136 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

 

Note: Intensive care numbers are a subset of the total in hospital. They are not in addition to the number of people in hospital.

 

The new/active cases include:

• 285 new cases in Fraser Health
  • Total active cases: 1,971
• 60 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
  • Total active cases: 686
• 137 new cases in Interior Health
  • Total active cases: 808
• 172 new cases in Northern Health
  • Total active cases: 937
• 61 new cases in Island Health
  • Total active cases: 504
• no new cases of a people who reside outside of Canada
  • Total active cases: 59

In the past 24 hours, four new deaths (Northern Health) have been reported, for an overall total of 2,096.

 

There have been two new health-care facility outbreaks at Deni House (Interior Health) and Bulkley Valley District Hospital (Northern Health), for a total of 26 active outbreaks, including:

long-term care:

• Willingdon Care Centre, Westminster House, Magnolia Gardens, Manoah Manor, Cherington Place, West Shore Laylum, Queens Park Care Centre, Heritage Village (Fraser Health);
• Amica Lions Gate (Vancouver Coastal Health);
• Cottonwoods Care Centre, Overlander, Village by the Station, Haven Hill Retirement Centre, Deni House (Interior Health); and
• Wrinch Memorial Hospital (Northern Health).

• Mission Memorial Hospital (Fraser Health);
• University Hospital of Northern BC, GR Baker Memorial Hospital, Bulkley Valley District Hospital (Northern Health); and
• Tofino General Hospital (Island Health).

From Oct. 13-19, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 66.4% of cases and from Oct. 6-19, they accounted for 76.2% of hospitalizations.

• Partially vaccinated: 325 (7.5%)

Since December 2020, the Province has administered 8,103,896 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.

I was thinking about it but I think Seattle and Alaska is good as it gets… 7 day trip. 
 

Both don’t require pcr testing and relaxed rules on Covid restrictions.
