But in all those there was lines you huat didn't cross

I've attended rallies over the years where people went silent when we passed a care home , funeral , hospital..... it because we were told to but because it was the right thing to do

I've been at rallies that had a few fringe elements that went to block access to people and the protest instinctively opened a path for those people

Those moral lines we once had are now gone.

Not shocked because pandemic fatigue has well set in. We're going to need to spend quite a bit of time to repair the mental damage.

That this even *has* a counter protest sure means things have been *totally* diverted into off-topic fronts imho.

I don't imagine people are demanding truckers get the jab. I mean we don't give a crap if they do or not. It won't matter to us either way. Just like it hasn't all along the course of the pandemic.

They should not be given special privileges at the border if they are not willing to fulfill their job requirements.

Prob. not considering the vastness of the groups being depicted incl. all ethnicities, age groups and political leanings.

Calling them all nazis won't work. Except to convince more Canadians to listen to conservative politicians who will at least identify the vast protest movement more appropiately.

You hobnob with Nazis, guess what?

What part of 'that won't work' wasn't clear?

My grandfather fought the nazis. I'm as social democrat as it gets. I called Trudeau's ascendancy years before it happened. So i might know a thing or two about Cdn politics.

You should know that calling millions of similar Canadian restrictions protestors nazis simply will not work.

Except to accomplish more conservative support.

So i guess conservative politicians will welcome this development. It is what it is.

These people are the definition of entitled cowards.  They want the payoff, bit don't want to do the hard work to get there.  You can't have it both ways

that really does describe them perfectly, "entitled cowards".

Completely useless to down right dangerous throughout the pandemic, and now putting on a hissy fit of epic proportions that also won't do anything useful.

nope this whole hissy fit won't increase support for the con's. It may just split them again though, which would be awesome.

Any red tory watching this, and then looking at someone like Poutine Poilievre as the next leader glorifying this idiotic protest,  will grudgingly mark an X for the Liberals next election.

Maybe. Depends on if Trudeau steps down or not. His heir, likely Freeland, would easily lose imho.

Canadians are about due for a changeup in the next election or two as they would have forgotten about why they voted the cpc out.

As for the split vote, well Singh's party is still a factor too. As well as the manipulation of Quebec. Trudeau has much of that vote still. Would Freeland? Prob. not.

And many NDP supporters will do the same to ensure the worst case scenario doesn't happen.  This tantrum could very easily hand Trudeau his majority.

why would he step down?

But the CPC has been doing all it can to remind us of why they are such a terrible option, and attaching themselves to this racist and idiotic protest is giving the Liberals all the photo op's they need for the next election. Not to mention the likelihood of Skippy Polievre and his annoying personality having zero chance of winning.

yup, Singh hasn't really done much and hasn't gained beyond the hard core base. I could see some strategic voting going on for sure.

Sure.  A couple thousand Nazi supporters are going to overthrow our freely elected government.

Fifty old guys on scooters would scare these cowards off the streets.

We got no seats in the election.  But now we are going to whine.  Let’s drive our pickup trucks and fly Canadian flags and pretend we aren’t selfish antivaxxer cowardly losers.  Blocked by a few bicycles!

Just get the shot, and grow the hell up.

Make the distinction constantly or watch the pandemic fatigued public move to the right because that party is making the distinction.

Because nobody in Canada can believe that all protestors are nazis using this logic.

It's also a lazy take to begin with from any journalistic standpoint.

Do you know anyone that wants restrictions to continue?

Ya, but a good number of us know that restrictions will come down when the numbers say it is a good time to do so.  Not because a bunch of entitled morons honk their horns and have a temper tantrum.  Science backs this up.  Jurisdictions that relax their restrictions too early see increased mortality.  True in the Spanish flu pandemic.  True this time around.  And yea, I've posted links to scientific articles and statements made by Kenney to back up everything in this post previously.
