Migawd, there are so many Luddites around. Whenever I see, hear or read about those clowns, I have to wonder, are they being willfully obtuse, or are they just plain stupid? I know a lot of anti-vaxers. One of them has had Covid at least 3 times, including once when he had pneumonia for a month. And yet he still refers to vaccination as a "science experiment". 1

Last time in the States was 25 years ago. Went and got some stock. Went through Idaho. Hatred and tension filled the air. Haven’t been back. Popular Post VancouverHabitant
Immunity acquired from a Covid infection is as protective as vaccination against severe illness and death, study finds The immunity generated from an infection was found to be “at least as high, if not higher” than that provided by two doses of an mRNA vaccine. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/natural-immunity-protective-covid-vaccine-severe-illness-rcna71027 For some reason this was not okay to be said for a long time during the pandemic, but there it is. 4 1

Early on you can understand why acquired immunity was poo poo. Letting Covid rip was not an option. Now that virtually everyone has gotten vaccinated, had Covid-19, or both and we've made it through winter without much trouble, there isn't the worry. We've entered the endemic phase. That being said, geting vaccinated is still better than running the gauntlet as a "pure blood". 1 1

Only an idiot would get infected with a disabling (killer) disease as a means to immunize when vaccines are free and available. How about the antivaxxers who get really sick from Covid do t get any medical care? Seems fair, right? No vaccine; no medical care for Covid. 1 2

You do not get to decide who gets health treatment. Universal health care means every one gets care no matter what choices they made. What's next no skiers, drinkers, overweight people? You can't pick and choose. 1

Demanding people to get vaccinated after they've had Covid is not only wrong, it's also idiotic and dangerous. We have seen this demonstrated through different studies now. That's been my issue and yes, exposing yourself to Covid without the vaccines was more dangerous. I didn't like the cookie cutter "Get vaccinated!!!!" message.

There were sadly a lot of things people weren't allowed to say early on. IMO the censorship just caused more people to harden their stance and divided people further.

Not being exposed to the regular germs we all did our entire lives, then two years later, when the regular old cold and flu (not covid) comes around it seems worse than ever. Maybe isolation isn’t the right way to go about it (for many reasons). When I was a kid, parents sent you to your friends house when they had the chicken pox. When you were a kid Covid wasn’t running around. Yes our immune systems will take some time to reboot now that we are all out and about. But it was a heck of a lot better than overwhelming an already overwhelmed healthcare system.
