I used to live in Haida Gwaii as a kid. We'd take the ferry to Rupert and then down to Port Hardy. Port Hardy wasn't all bad. At least has some good fishing. Duncan's only redeeming quality is the big old hockey stick you can see from the highway.

Used to be a used cd store just across the road from the rec center/hockey stick. The owner recommended a Gary Moore disc. Loved the disc and bought some of Moore's records at a later date. Second best memory of Duncan.

Best memory of Duncan was working at a group home out on Stamps rd.

third best memory of Duncan, was moving out of Duncan.

Who is this change.org and what do they know about testing?  Our PHO has repeated time and time again that testing asymptomatic people is not reliable.  The tests that they have now work best when people are showing symptoms.  They only test for asymptomatic carriers only when they identify clusters and need to do trace testing.  They continually test the same people over and over again when they know that they have had a high chance of exposure.  A person may have it and test negative one day and then test positive the next day.  Testing completely random people is a waste of tests.  They have started or are about to start serology testing which tests for anti bodies to the virus which if positive would mean that you had the virus at some point.  These while more accurate have some issues as well.

The reason why we are testing so few people is because we don't have a lot of people going in with symptoms.

Try and figure out why provinces like Quebec and Ontario test more than we do.

#BrokenRecordBC won't hear you, he's on a rant about Dr. Henry and thats that.

BCs strategy has been to put resources where its most needed, in fast contact tracing to keep the spread down, not test every random joe with a sore throat.

All the evidence you need of it working are the in-hospital numbers, which are fantastic.

I think that's their point.  They need to identify the asymptomatic.

why? why do they need to do that beyond what the current practice is? we also don't have the tech to test everyone that way yet.

I didn't agree or disagree with it, just that was the intent of the call for more testing.

I heard that this area was going to start a rugby program. They figured it could grow to be the number two sport in the Charlottes.......

What's the number one sport????

why, "Haida go seek", of course!!

Good the see the country as a whole fighting this virus and making progress.

Patiently waiting here in Toronto for the virus to fall in line with case numbers across the country. Looks like we're going to remain as the hotspot in Canada for some more time.

Can anyone find a link or data that supports Covid-19 can be transmitted via people that are asymptomatic?

Was there a study done to prove the case/hypothesis?

From CDC...

COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly through close contact from person-to-person. Some people without symptoms may be able to spread the virus. We are still learning about how the virus spreads and the severity of illness it causes.

"May" is not the same as "Can"

Is that from CDC or the CDC?

Read up on Typhoid Mary...... very interesting.    We need to look at history and not repeat it...

Why do we need to identify super asymptomanic covid spreaders.... ?  really ?

Utilizing only 40% of our current Covid  testing capibility will cost many lives to BC seniors.....   This is a very poor strategy by Doctor Bonnie and the BC gov.

"Quantitative SARS-CoV-2 viral loads were similarly high in the four symptom groups (residents with typical symptoms, those with atypical symptoms, those who were presymptomatic, and those who remained asymptomatic)".
