They thinking about opening up the borders between US and CANADA ....if justin does that, we are all doomed, they way the US are being infected and the people dont care, they care more about there rights, than social distancing ....im very scared if we do open up.

I was so happy we didnt get chosen for being a HUB city, than heard they might be opening up the borders...SIGH

Who is 'they' ?  everywhere I read the border is to stay closed and an overwhelming number of Canadians agree

I am fully embracing domestic (provincial) travel this summer it will be great.

my fourteen year old grandson was supposed to go to a youth group night at a church last night. my daughter was dropping him off when she saw about 40 teenagers , none social distancing and not one wearing a mask. my grandson is not the healthiest  of kids, and his dad isn't either, so my grandson, said to his mom , never mind mom, i am not going . one of the adults running this group came up to my daughters car and asked why her son was not going in and my daughter explained because of the social distancing or wearing a mask. the adult said well we are in PHASE THREE, and you don't have to social distance  or wear a mask anymore.  WHAT!!!

Brutal but that mindset is everywhere I am noticing.  I got laughed at for walking to the store with a mask on(I don't like removing my mask unless I have plenty of hand sanitizer).

Not sure if the numbers are legit, but I read online that the US reached a million cases in 99 days, 2 million cases in 142 days and 3 million cases in 170 days....

It's pretty shocking and if those numbers are accurate, proof that re-opening was one of the worst ideas, in a long line of bad ideas from American politicians....

My recent trip to Osoyoos showed me the lack of concern many people have at the moment. My thought was that many locals are just happy some tourists are visiting as that is the towns livelihood really for many to survive. I went out to a couple restaurants, barely any of the staff were wearing masks. the social distancing of tables was pathetic and the one-way path was not enforced at all. the beaches were packed large groups with people. mainly the wineries seemed to be taking it seriously from my experience.

Sigh.

People believe what they want to in order to suit their own agendas.  It's not easy to do what we're being asked...but it's necessary.  Do it now, in a concentrated effort until we're clear of this thing or keep dabbling and watch the spikes prolong it all.  We'll all be set back if we aren't prepared to hold the line.

They're already assessing the bar stuff because it's problematic...expect there to likely be announcements on how they're going to enforce some rules there (rather than politely ask for them).

We all know, by know, what is being asked in this.  Social distance, maintain a "bubble", wash our hands frequently, wear a mask when social distancing isn't possible and avoid large gatherings when possible.  Only participate when social distancing is being observed.

Man Goes on Anti-Mask, 'Wuhan Virus' Tirade at Store: 'You Can All Die'

http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/man-goes-on-anti-mask-wuhan-virus-tirade-at-store-you-can-all-die/ar-BB16uqPW?li=AAggNb9&ocid=iehp

An unidentified man launched into an angry and racist tirade while shopping at a Canadian grocery store after he was asked by store employees to mask up.

The incident, which was posted on YouTube on July 7, occurred inside a T&T Supermarket in Mississauga, Ontario, part of a chain that specializes in selling Asian foods.

The man, who is white, is heard refusing to cover his face when asked by a female employee while removing items from his basket and throwing them on the floor.

"I am never coming back here again," he says as he begins to storm away, amid apologies from the store employee. "I am going to have the media here.…You can all wear your masks, and you can all die, and you can all get sick because when you wear the mask you get sick. It's science."

The recording shows employees and the man's companion, surrounding him and trying to calm him down.

But the man appears to grow angrier as he demands that employees who pressed in close to him step back two meters.

"This is a lie. This is a communist-socialist lie," he said. "Where do we get our Wuhan communist virus? From China; from you guys."

The customer, who repeatedly swears that he has asthma, confronts the store employee standing in front of him and demands to know where he is from.

"I'm Canadian," the unidentified store employee says.

The woman next to the angry customer, who also isn't wearing a mask, embraces him while appealing to store employees that wearing the mask makes the man ill as he continues to argue with store employees.

Other store employees responding to the tantrum watch as the angry customer is eventually chest-to-chest with the employee, while the woman who appears to be with him tries unsuccessfully to separate them.

"Get out of my face," the man yells as employees slowly guide him to the front of the store. "Go back to China where you came from, and take your coronavirus back to Wuhan."

The man and woman leave the store minutes later, followed by store employees.

In a YouTube comment, Firenze Yeung, who recorded and posted the video on YouTube, lamented the reaction of the worker who repeatedly told the angry customer that he was Canadian during the nearly four-minute tirade.

"My heart was broken and tears shed," Yeung said. "Where is our multiculturalism? Where are our national values? Even PM Trudeau called grocery store employees 'heroes'! Why are heroes treated like this? I don't understand…"

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/lamented

lament

verb (used with object)

to feel or express sorrow or regret for: to lament his absence.

to mourn for or over.

verb (used without object)

to feel, show, or express grief, sorrow, or regret.

to mourn deeply.

noun

an expression of grief or sorrow.

a formal expression of sorrow or mourning, especially in verse or song; an elegy or dirge.

EDIT:

It's not the employee's actions that the person is upset with.  I think it's the sorrow of how the employee was treated (ie. not a Canadian).  I think the author/writer chose the wording improperly to convey those meanings.

I swear some people are just using the whole refusal to wear a mask to outwardly lash out and express their racism/whatever.  Like it's their excuse to rampage.

Guess they missed the "be kind" in Dr. Henry's messages.

Be an ass?  Don't remember that part but it seems some are acting on it.

Sounds like this man went in there looking for a fight (T & T incident).

That story was from Ontario - they do not get the privilege of having Dr. B's direct guidance regularly.

Perhaps she should be the national health officer with how well BC is doing thus far  :)

I am sure that even she would be unable to fix the stupid in some though

I honestly think it's a kind of "Big Brother" backlash.

People hate the government telling them what to do, even if it is in their best interests....

Man who wrote to Trump peddling toxic bleach as ‘miracle’ coronavirus cure charged with federal crime

http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/newspolitics/man-who-wrote-to-trump-peddling-toxic-bleach-as-miracle-coronavirus-cure-charged-with-federal-crime/ar-BB16v1VX?ocid=iehp

A Florida man who had sent a letter to President Trump peddling toxic bleach as a fake coronavirus cure has been arrested by the commander-in-chief’s own Justice Department, an ironic turn of events that comes two months after the nation’s leader suggested the ludicrous method as a possible COVID-19 treatment.

Prosecutors believe the Grenons sold tens of thousands of bottles of MMS nationwide under the guise of Genesis II Church of Health and Healing, an entity they allegedly created to avoid government regulation.

Florida...why am I not surprised.
