I’m More than a little drunk right now....?just don’t know where else to vent ....I Got a hysterical call from my Mom this AM... to come over to my Uncle Daryl’s apartment, immediately. My sister calls my brother who lived the closest to her. The Nurse said she didn't get an answer at the door at my Mom's apartment. The Nurse thought she just forgot about the appointment. My Brother had a spare key could he just spin by? He did, let the nurse in and found my Mom dead. Messed him up quite a while. That's not something people are used to. I found out heading home, after just getting laid off from work. So it was a lousy time all around. Can't believe that's 15 years ago. I’m not just referring to them delivering daily hot lunches to those ‘shut-ins’ (like the elderly) but also a friendly smile/short visit. If nobody answers the doorbell when they deliver a meal, they are instructed to phone the office....and someone in the office phones that elderly’s emergency contact. She has chronic GI issues and just came out of (thankfully successful) surgery. My nephew (who was raised by my parents) lives there and checks in on her every day. The rest of the family is scattered around BC, (and one sister who lives in Grande Prairie) so we're all grateful that he's there to help. A Missouri sleepaway camp has shut down after more than 80 kids and staffers became infected with the coronavirus, health officials said. Kamp Kanakuk decided to end its K-2 program in Lampe last week after the first few dozen cases were detected, according to Stone County Health Department. Pretty sure kids can get covid during the day.... not only during the night.... People need to look at what happens in BC with a critical lens... not just parrotting what our goverrnment tells us..... People that suggest the use of PPE when at work/school / indoors are not the problem..
