Critter Care Wildlife Society wants them. Critter Care is home to hundreds of B.C.’s injured or orphaned wildlife, including raccoons, opossums, fawns, coyotes cubs, bears, skunks and more. They are accepting donations of Christmas trees to use as enrichment for their animals. Everyone is welcome to drop off your tree any day of the week 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please make sure it is free of any tinsel and ornaments. Critter Care centre is located at 481-216 St. Or call 604-530-2064. 4
goalie13
In Victoria, the same thing goes for WildArc. Although you should call ahead to check that they don't have too many trees as lots of people donate theirs.

-DLC-
I don't think so...usually they're there because they're injured or orphaned and need care. Also....don't go there bare. Probably isn't a good idea.

Sharpshooter
I don’t do live trees, but I did donate $500 to an animal welfare group outside of the lower mainland. 2

Racoons get such a bad rep... they are super cute and everyone just hates on them. Every time I see some cross the street or something I get some joy out of it... especially when there's like 3 little ones chasing the mom. I'll spread the word to people i know with real trees. love that we live in a country where such terrific organizations exist.

Very smart, and those claws are great for opening things, very dextrous. A friend tells me that there was a 'pet' racoon at his lumber camp. Some one would give him a sugar cube, and the first thing it would do to food is try to wash it,. Poor racoon had a heck of a time watching that cube melt in water. 1

Raccoons might look cute but they are definitely a danger to your pets. Food. That said I like the ones in my backyard and feed them almost daily. Wildlife should be protected, especially the ones that we are fortunate enough to share an ecosystem with. Skunks are my favourite. Extremely cute and will eat out of your hand if you give them the chance. Edited December 29, 2020 by IBatch
