-Vintage Canuck-
There are so many great memories of Canada games played on New Year's Eve, especially the ones against the United States. I'm still looking forward to this one against the second best team in Group A. 1

Team defense finally got cleaned up last game, and Levi looks solid in net. 4-2 for our boys. Go Canada! -Vintage Canuck-
Team Canada had the same lines in practice today as they did during their game against Switzerland.

"His father, Ross, is from the Great White North. He had a pro career of his own, mostly playing in the United Kingdom. Ross is married to a Finnish woman, so despite having a Canadian-sounding name, Brad uses his Finnish citizenship in hockey events. Lambert's mother is Finnish, and he only played a year of youth hockey in Canada, so while he's a dual citizen, Lambert has chosen to represent Finland in international events for the time being." 1

I respect that a lot more than Brett Hull who decided to become a traitor because he was butthurt he wasn't good enough to make Team Canada. I'm 2nd generation Russian/Canadian, and as I grew up as an underdog I tend to lean towards the underdog hero storyline. It's easy to cheer for the team full of 1st rounders, but as a Canucks fan, I've learned to love punishment. Either way, at least hockey is here! 1

Yeah, I'm sure Brett Hull will never forget those "Traitor!" and "Brett Hull sucks!" chants during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey.

That's fair as long as you stay around for the chirps once our boys destroy the Russian diving team.

Haha I've been around here too long to leave at a few chirps. I'm hoping Podkolzin gives us all a reason to celebrate. Seems like Horvat 2.0 IMO

The defense they played against Russia was outstanding and they're more than capable of playing that style again. USA and Sweden are both obviously stronger teams but the way the Czechs play could drive our guys nuts if we can't get a good start. I'd prefer to go in with a win, but historically a loss in the group stage can serve as a wake-up call; I'm hoping ours was against Slovakia.

I’m not going to go against the odds and say Canada beats Finland with a score of 5-3.
