Another little contribution to Hogmania...

If you watch the bag skate which Hoglander was part of, he jumped out to a quick lead in his group. Not really a surprise given the rep he has for excellent conditioning....and the fact that he has been playing competitive hockey as of just a few weeks ago. As the bag skate was on it’s final leg I’m pretty sure I saw Hog, who was still leading, glance to his left and I think he saw the captain and I think he let up just a little bit so that he and Bo finished in a virtual tie. The kid is more than just flash and dash I think.

He plays like Theo Fleury. He'll be just fine.

Gaudette really needs to become a two way guy that can kill penalties if he wants to stick on this team as a centre.

Cant be constantly sheltered and always leave us relaying on Sutter and Beagle.

Would be great if he had a little kesler in him

Apparently, Gaudette had some health issues that affected him staying at game weight, which has been tested and looked after. Look to him to be stronger this year, all he needs is a brain download from Malhotra, and he’ll be fine. Staying after practice to work with Malhotra would be advisable for him, MacEwen, Lockwood, Jasek, Bailey, and Michaelis. Need guys equipped to take third/fourth line roles and PK/checking specialists, but who can transition like Motte (and like how the young Burrows and Kesler used to do.

im not even the same guy, relax your blood pressure is probaly rising. the example you ask to come forward with is nearly impossible to come up with. conversations with GM'S and coaches is usually one way. but here is one if vasily podkolzin is played less minutes in the khl to induce him to sign a contract, this is the example your looking for right? or maybe how about the coaches son? there has been many a time where late round draft piks have been made to select people with connections to the nhl. Money, Greed, extortion, the NHL is not exempt.

x

Blood pressure is excellent.   I am having some fun with this.   The VP case is because they KNOW he is going to NA after this season....has NOTHING to do with the original premise that Juolevi will make the team over Rafferty to make the GM look good.   That remains a laughable comment that I called and changing that proposed situation as being a reality doesn't change how ridiculous that claim was.

Ps - extortion?    LOL.   Have a good one.    Thanks for the grins.   :)

While I agree that would be awesome too, it may be really tough to get the Maple Leafs permission to have Malhotra mentor our guys now. ::D

Speaking of Malholtra I think he'll be an NHL head coach as soon as next year.

is it ridiculous though? highly unlikely, probably. man do ou remember how fickle burkey was? that MF'ER would probably double cross his own mother, if she made him look bad.

i'd give 2/1 odds he's done it.

does burke have twitter? i wonder if he would out himself?

I have only one issue to this. What will happen when players/coaches like Luc Bourdon, Rick Rypien and the late great Pat Quinn passed away. It was always the helmet that the organization would put the decals to remember those members of the club. Where do the decals go now that the ads have taken over on the helmets? It was a good spot to represent the great soldiers of this franchise that we lost. Would hate to lose this salute to the fallen Canucks due to corporate greed. As long as they keep those alone I’m ok with the ads on the helmet even though the red has no part of the team colour scheme

Rogers sucks too... really bad company, but Bell and Telus are just as bad

Oops, I missed a Malhotra signing elsewhere. Thanks for the update. Hate that the Leafs have him; their forwards might learn to play defence and win face offs.

Yeah I fully agree with you that he was a big loss.  I think he was likely like an Ian Clark level coach on D and FW.  Big loss but somebody will step up in his place.
