HighOnHockey
Alright, well we hadn’t done any official statement since taking over the team. Now would be the time. Had a lot of work to do, and this trade last night was the centerpiece in building the team we want going forward. We don’t expect to be making many more moves anytime in the near to mid-term future. Firstly, immeasurable, incalculable props to my director of pro scouting, Josh, who will soon be officially moving into the AGM position. Just a hockey savant. He’s my secret weapon. Major props also to the previous manager(s?) of this organization, who left us in an under-ratedly strong position. We were a little concerned at first about the dearth of quantity in the cupboard, but there were some low-key high-quality pieces in Durzi, Walsh, Chmelevski, and then Mitchell, Walker and Thompson already on the roster. But the most glaring feature was a small core of very high end players aged 23-25 – Barkov, DeBrincat, Vrana, Blackwood. We decided the best strategy would be to expedite the rebuild process and surround that core with quality players on reasonable contracts to try to set up as long a window of contention as possible while the core is in their primes and still on manageable contracts. We think we've taken major steps toward that with the additions of Severson, Fabbro, Backstrom, Foligno, and especially with this latest trade, adding three really good players on exceptional contracts. We've also went a long way in addressing the depth of the prospect cupboard, adding 11 prospects at and around the draft. Props also to Down By The River for thoughtful, systematic negotiations over the past couple weeks, and for being willing to listen even when it seemed like we were worlds apart. Josh was the one with the initial vision behind this trade; he identified the framework for a perfect fit that wasn’t readily apparent, even if it needed a lot of fleshing out. Bjorkstrand and Toews were both very high on our list of potential trade targets and we are ecstatic about adding both. Losing Tyson Foerster was painful, but the earlier addition of Roby Jarventie made us more comfortable moving him. Now to the fun part - our lineup going into this season, and likely the vast majority of our lineup for the next couple years: Bjorkstrand – Barkov – DeBrincat Vrana – Backstrom – Brown Gusev (fingers crossed) – Foligno – Thompson Gagner – Lazar – Vesey Leivo Toews – Severson Edmundson – Walker Kukan – Fabbro Benn – Mitchell Blackwood Smith Edited August 19, 2021 by HighOnHockey 1

Four of them as GM of Carolina, the other three a while ago as GM of LA! Man, I traded with @Jaku a lot... inane
St. Louis Blues. Busy off season and I'm optimistic our grind of a rebuild is finally starting to turn. Taylor Hall - John Tavares - Cole Caufield Owen Tippett - Oliver Wahlstrom - Nicolas Aube-Kubel MacKenzie MacEachern - Derek Stepan - Zach Aston-Reese Cedric Paquette - Cody Eakin - Eetu Luostarinen Michael Bunting/Jesper Boqvist/Adam Mascherin Miro Heiskanen - Adam Boqvist Jared Spurgeon - Victor Soderstrom Alec Martinez - Jack Johnson Brad Hunt Igor Shesterkin Alex Nedljkovic Building from the net out, our goalies and D are strong. Forwards...a little thin. But, with still over 8 million in cap, we are going to look to sign a couple more depth players, especially up front. Or perhaps some more college signings like Jordan Kawaguchi. Lots in the prospect pool as well so you never know who might surprise and make the team! 1
Relyt Krets
Been a busy offseason for Tampa Bay. We feel we have a good mix of players and a good group who can still compete and we should still contend for a playoff spot. We will definitely have our work cutout for us, but I am happy with the moves we have made to have a younger future going forward. We have lots of skill who should contend for a roster spot next season. So to have those tough decisions is not a bad thing. We have a glaring hole in goal after losing Hellebuyck, but we are confident that one of our younger goalies will take the torch and run with it CDCFL Tampa Bay Lightning FORWARDS 62 Kevin Labanc - 9 Tyler Johnson {A} - 39 Anthony Mantha 17 Alex Killorn - 20 Blake Coleman - 77 Frank Vatrano 74 Jake Debrusk - 11 Mikael Backlund - 39 Adrian Kempe 23 Philipp Kurashev - 10 Adam Lowry - 21 Mason Marchment 88 Adam Gaudette DEFENSE 41 Jonas Brodin - 5 Aaron Ekblad {C} 76 Brady Skjei - 22 Kevin Shattenkirk 19 Michael Matheson - 43 Mikko Lehtonen 58 Oliver Kylington - (UFA) 45 Sami Vatanen GOALIES 31 Martin Jones 35 Jonas Johansson Hide contents Forwards 13 Filip Zadina - 26 Phillip Tomasino - 36 Dominik Bokk 93 Kristian Vesalainen - 20 Aleksi Heponiemi - 18 Robert Lantosi 21 Blake McLaughlin - 11 Logan Brown - 92 Graeme Clarke 15 Marcus Kallionkieli - 22 Arttu Ruostalainen - 21 Adam Ruzicka 91 Bulat Shafigulin - 24 Martin Pospisil - 95 Dylan Sikura 55 Patrick Khodorenko Defense 42 Robin Salo - 6 Kaeden Korczak 28 Gustav Lindstrom - 68 Brennan Menell 13 Dmitry Semykin - 28 Johannes Kinnvall 29 Wyatte Wylie Goalies 1 Alexie Melnichuk 32 Filip Gustavsson 80 Jack LaFontaine Unsigned Prospects 27 Blake Biondi (C) - 21 Brandon Coe (RW) - 26 Jaromir Pytlik (C) 90 Timur Ibragimov (C) - 38 Aku Raty (RW) - 17 Bogdan Trineyev (RW) 36 Sasha Pastujov (LW) - 98 Xavier Bourgault (C) - 29 Niko Huuhtanen (RW) (UND) 77 Florian Elias (C) - (UND) 19 Sasha Teleguine (F) 2 Yan Kuznetsov (LHD) - 27 Shakir Makhamadulin (LHD) 8 Shai Buium (LHD) 31 Joel Blomqvist (G) ELC Slides: Edited August 25, 2021 by Tylez

Between him and Nicolas Deslauriers, we now have 2 players who can play either D or W. That will give us a lot of flexibility to balance the roster, in case of injuries. D-Money
I was able to fill out my roster with some extra cap space to spare. So if there is a team that has cap trouble, I'm willing to listen to something involving Kevin Rooney. Rooney was a fantastic bottom-6 producer last year, with 133 fantasy points, and is signed for 1 more season at only $700K. Would consider moving him for a better player making more money, a similar player earning a bit more but who has more term (or is pending RFA), or a pick.
