Saw us with Hamonic they had to find a piece too

He's been there quite a while already?

Its just an issue of whether any rookies, or Kylington, make themselves invaluable.  If Stone were better, he would have a guaranteed contract.

A PTO to a guy that played for them for the last four seasons? Seems odd. Maybe they are afraid that the Canucks will sign him.....

No worries though, they can keep their trash

He might be able to sign a deal with an actual NHL team if he outplays Calgary's trash in camp.

Funny how many considered Calgary upgraded (and were dumping on our defense as being "downgraded"). Calgary added Tanev on RD and lost Brodie and Hamonic. Now they've PTOed Stone who is still on their cap regardless if he signs or not from buying him out.

I'd argue Calgary has actually downgraded their defense. They added a better goalie and remained basically status quo on forward.

This is a similar trend for basically most teams in the North Division. Most teams took a hit somewhere to "upgrade" elsewhere. The teams that added the most were the teams that were very poor last year, so we will see if they will make that big of a swing as not all additions turn things around.

That's wild, what a weird move. You think they'd just sign him for their taxi squad given how known a quantity he is.
