JeremyCuddles
Big money. When healthy is decent. 36 points in 49 games. They are banking on him staying healthy and contributing at that level.
Fanuck
Makes me appreciate Boeser's contract value even more.
Azzy
If Bjorkstrand was a Canuck and Benning gave that contract to him, boy...Canucks Twitter would not be a pretty sight today. Never broken 40pts (although was playing at a 60pt pace last season) - that's a big contract for a guy with it all still to prove. 1 1

oldnews
I'm not sure I agree with the idea that this kind of payday is premature. I tend to be pretty conservative, particularly when it comes to paying young player prematurely....but... Bjorkstrand has always presented as a 'real deal' type player imo - very intelligent and consistent. And his outcomes in the past few years may be a bit misleading - ie he may have been more impressive than it appears on the surface. For me, one think that stands out: - two years ago he had 20 (of his 23) goals at even strength. - again last season, 18 of his 21 (team leading) goals came at even strength. It may seem a bit much ($5.4) at this point - but he still has a year at 2.5....and by year 5 of this extension...? I think they probably have a pretty consistent 30ish goal scorer in Bjorkstrand (can never 'bank' on something like this, but I think he's probably a pretty good 'risk'). What is a bit hard to figure is the general disposition of Columbus' management....they seem pretty unpredictable.
Lancaster
This makes Baertschi's contract look like a steal.
