I got to meet the Johns once down in the trenches after a game....so down to earth and approachable.  Came over, said hi...just all around good guys.  I've always liked them since that.

My 1 problem: We're still doing this conservative defensive thing where we collapse & wait for the other team to dictate the play then react. And we need to ditch it. I said it last year & I'll continue to say it - it gives good players too much time to make plays.

 

BUT it was only the first game, we have alot of time to build off this. And I think we can really be alot better as the season goes along. Tons of room to improve.

 

Holtby was great

Hoglander was great

Top players (Hughes, Petey, Horvat, Brockstar) we're all really good

Schmidt was skating well

Juolevi overall had a good night

 

And we still got Miller coming.
