Which GoT House would George R R Martin put them in?

Looking at our 43 man roster got me to wondering .... if George R R Martin needs some more names for his Game of Throne characters he'd have a treasure trove from our players.

But in which House would he put them?  Here's what I see ...........

Sutter is obvious - Brandon is a Stark. Braden and Brogan sound Starkish as well

Our 3 Tyler's (Motte, Myers and Graovac) are obviously Lannisters, joining Titus, Tywin and Tyrion

Hawryluk and Jasek are Targaryans (there is a Jace and a Luke in "Fire and Blood")

Petey to me is from Pentos, or Lys or Myr

Bo has to be from Bear Isle - Bo Mormont sounds so right

Ollie, ofc, is in the Nights Watch

I see Nils as a Greyjoy, Sven as well

Quinn is a Martel from Dorne, maybe Roussel too

Brock and Jake's (2) are Tyrells

Tanner and Kole are Baratheon

Jordie is so obviously a Wildling from north of the wall, maybe Jett and Thatcher too

Adam, Jay, Jack and Will sound like Hightowers

Nate and Josh I think are Tarlys

Jonah is a Velaryan

Zack Bolton has a ring to it

Who have I missed?

Oh, Loui ...He's a Frey

How do you see them?

The Houses in a Song of Ice and Fire aren't like Hogwarts Houses. You aren't "sorted" into them, you're born in. Its not really a personality thing. The traits of each house vary so much and the characters have enough nuance that you can't really just assign real people to them. Case in point: Renly, Stannis and Robert all have wildly different demeanors.  Loras and Margaery don't really have much in common. Sansa and Arya are essentially polar opposites, etc.

Unless you're just going by physical descriptions, in which case they're pretty cut and dry. Petey and Brock would be Lannisters, Hughes would be a Tyrell, Horvat a Baratheon, etc.

Game of Thrones completely died after that horrendous finale.  Not sure why you're trying to bring it back from the dead.

December saw the best monthly sales yet for Fire and Blood, which is the book that the HBO prequel is based on.  And the books, still active 'cos Martin is still writing them, have a huge following in their own right

I agree, the final season was botched.  Dan and Dave couldn't wait to be finished to get out and into Star Wars, where they bombed too.  Pity, cos all that character development over 7 years was just jettisoned for a quick, unsatisfying ending.

Wasn't going by appearance of the actual player,  more by first names - offering them up to GRRM to save him repeating old ones.

For example, if Aidan McDonough were Aedan, he'd surely be a Targaryen. Jalen (Chatfield) sounds vaguely Targaryen too. And Justin (Bailey) sounds like a Tully - Justin Tully has a ring to it

That was the intent of the post - if GRRM used these names, which houses would they be in.

(Prolly a better topic for April/May, when the lockdown boredom set in, rather than the eve of the kickoff match!!)

Well that info about Fire and Blood is an interesting tidbit for me to think about.  I still think Martin missed the train hard by not writing faster like... JK Rowling.  D&D wouldn't have had to wing the last seasons.  He could've turned the whole thing into something huge like Star Wars (or Harry Potter).  It'll never be as big as it was during the show's run.  Shame.

@Googlie is correct about Benioff and Weiss....they decided the series was going to end at a certain point and they crammed everything in, in order to make that happen. As a result, Dany's descent into madness wasn't believable and all sorts of plot holes got glossed over.

There should have been two seasons worth of material there. One in Winterfell and one in KL....

That's 1 more than moi..but now you've almost sold me on it!

I heard a long time ago, maybe during a stand-up routine... instead of watching GoT, you can get the same experience watching LoTR.  Just switch to porn every 10 mins

Depends what GRRM thinks.   Feel he’d first put them into different food groups, and secondly rate them from hottest to not hottest, and decide which one is most likely to sleep with his sister (ok got to be Prince Charming as he’s the hottest).   After that he’d finish his microwaved burrito, and his gallon of Pepsi and get back to his D and D game in his cool geeky man dungeon.
