Noticed there wasn't a topic for this, and I'm curious how the rest of Canucks nation feel about being underestimated... Again.

As you can see, Sportsnet's lack of faith is disturbing. Only other places we're mentioned is MacIntyre voting Van most likely to exceed expectations, and some Engel clown voting us most likely to disappoint.

Special mention to Gene Principe for voting every trophy and title to either the Oilers or McDavid.

Can't wait to see the boys prove them wrong.... Again

This isn't news.  "Center of the Hockey Universe" and "Best Player in the League" are of course going to get the attention of the league and media, ahead of "plucky underdogs with underrated, developing star center and small but mighty #1 D-man, plus goalie living rent free in contender's heads".

They probably also look at Vancouver the same way we did, before Hamonic signed, in that the D is weaker, while "Leafs Big 4, gets needed support" and "McDavid and Draisaitl.. enough said".

It's not surprising. I do think the North Division will be incredibly close and almost any of the teams could end up winning the division, but I personally have Calgary winning it.

Where I think the Canucks have a better chance is if we make the playoffs, then going on a bit of a run. Several of our guys, including our best players, have shown to be big game players, especially Hughes, Horvat, Demko, and Petey. Not surprising to see Amber give us an edge there--he's always favoured the Canucks, especially since we've come out of our rebuild.

lol. I think MacIntyre and Murph didn't want to be tied up in the same class as Gene (who seems like a really nice guy but if there is a homer bigger than John Garrett, he might be it).

Meh, I don't give a $hit. They are always wrong and will be wrong again.

Lo I love not only his optimism but other analysts who pick the Oilers - what exactly did they upgrade from last season that makes anyone think they will be any better? I think they might have the weakest goalie tandem in the division if not the league lol

I really don't know. They look super thin on D and goaltending.. And unless they're playing some of their 3 top 6 guys as PK, I just can't see how they won't get steamrolled in the games McDavid doesn't win by himself

I'm confident enough I've got 20$ on ever canuck/oilers game and 100 on the season series. Not Vegas money but I'll make it worth it with the chirping towards my Oilers fan buddy

Although David Amber has Toronto winning the division in the regular season, he has Vancouver reaching the semi-finals.

As I remember they all had us written off for years, won't make the playoffs, and  same b.s. with TJ Miller was a bad trade and we got fleeced etc..

honestly, who cares what they say? meh.. same ole b.s. over and over like a broken record.

Calgary sucks lol. So overrated, top end talent is simply lacking.

Well you still have to be wary of that, NJ was like that when they won the cup, they didn't have a great team but really good, they simply out worked everyone and won it, it was as simple as that..  hard hard and work boots on, foot to the pedal, was surprising but they did it.

Not sure how anyone is expecting Toronto to win multiple playoff series with their collective allergy to team defense.  Every year, their defense gets exposed as AHL trash when it matters most.  Soilers also have the same issue and Cahlgary still has a total of zero men in their top six.
