Exactly. The mistake unfortunately was made long ago so it's just not worth even talking about now. Markstrom Tanev Toffoli vs. Holtby/Schmidt/Hamonic Eriksson Sutter/Beagle :(

FTFY....

the problems aren't related to systems or line combinations or special teams or any other coaching or strategy related thing. the problems are lack of confidence and lack of belief.

I'm really hoping that losing tanev, markstrom, and stecher hasn't completely gutted this group. the team bonded and got super tight with those guys here, including when 2 of their fathers died last season which acted as a major catalyst for the group becoming so tight. they were like family. similarly, I hope letting them go hasn't come across as disloyalty from the organization, planting a seed of doubt and resentment with the guys still here.

I don't know. they just don't have the same pop. something is missing, and it looks like something intangible to me.

I do find it hilarious how we did well in the Playoffs only because of Markstrom and Demko then the second things go a little wrong its all on the coach.

You can't deflect success from the coach then lay all the blame on him. Can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Marky and Demko save us all last season and contrary to what you are suggesting many of us called out Green all last year even when we were winning as there were glaring issues with our play

remove marky from the formula and now the problems become more visible

No you’d call out Green if he won the cup, which makes your say in the matter irrelevant. No matter what he does you whine about it. He keeps lines together he’s sitting on his hands, he shuffles the lines it's the wrong combination. Literally nothing he does is good enough because your mind is made up.

That is not analyzing, that is scapegoating

I had no idea we had a professional hockey analyst on these boards. Wow where do you work?

How many years under Green with an ever improving roster and this is where we end up?

thankfully he will be history soon and Brown and Baumer will follow him out the door

Lay all the blame on the coach and all the success is in spite of them. 100% how to not be a good analyst.

How do you call yourself a good analyst then say Green has zero game plan. You literally don't become or stay an NHL coach with zero game plan.
