I disagree entirely. Sure, maybe Myers is taking his share of penalties (and possibly suspension) at the moment, but he is exactly the type of player this team needs.
He’s not afraid to push back and does intimidate. If Petey or Hughes gets mugged / cheap shotted, we have too few who might do something about it. You know Myers would step up.

Besides, watching him punch Tkuchuk in the chops the other night was worth more than what we’re paying him.

Myers is the only non Kitten on the team.
Maybe if the rest of the team would do their part, he wouldnt need to goon

JB has nothing to do with Lu.

Myers, overpaid yes, is the least of our issues.

Erickson is all on JB.

Everyone one else people bi*ch about have their contracts expiring this and next year so not really handcuffing the prime of the core.

Had he signed Tanev and Marky to their new contracts than that is truly handcuffing this core.

Swallow this unusual season and hope to get that last high picks needed to push this team over the top.

The future is still bright.

Eriksson has earned the grief he gets on here but to suggest Myers has is comical. He has had some bad nights but he brings something to the team we just don't have without him. I'd still really like to see him paired with Hughes. Last season when they were together they had the best advanced stats of any pairing, they actually elevated each others games, which is saying something when he is elevating Hughes. Depending on Chatfield's condition tomorrow go with:

Hughes - Myers

Juolevi - Schmidt

Rathbone - Rafferty / Chatfield

Obviously not ideal and still super young and inexperienced but can't be much worse than last night

Eh, I was worried about giving him 6 years. But I don't think there's anything particularly terrible about his game. If not for the stagnant cap there'd be teams that'd want him and take his full cap. He had a truly terrible game last night. Name a player that didn't.

I dunno. Eriksson looks to be having his best year on vancouver to date.

The posts in this thread are a shame.
Have we all forgotten what a beast Myers was in the playoffs?
Have we put any thought into what a bunch of kittens this team is without him?

Who else has ANY intimidation factor?
Who else has a fairly constant mean streak?
Anyone else effective at clearing the crease?

He had a bad run in with some refs who wanted all the attention on themselves instead of the game.     It happens.

I hope he keeps it up.
If we aren’t scoring or winning, we might as well be smashing.

that suzkuki penalty was soft, he barley touched him, just the size difference.
