I know this won’t be a popular comment but the reffing this year has been much better than normal. They have been calling a lot but I can’t say it has been uneven and I haven’t seen a lot of “game management”. One bright spot.

Bad play aside, Canucks look tired. It's worthwhile to remember that Petey and Hughes have never played a full NHL season and then all of the sudden they get thrown into an extremely condensed NHL season. Same goes for Boeser for that matter.

Hence why I don't think it is as much of a personnel issue. Save for Marky who's elite enough to save our asses but relying on your goalie as much as we did isn't winning hockey.

 

Although JB could of been a bit better in the off-season in hindsight. We weren't keeping Marky though we probably could of kept one of Toffoli or Tanev. Virtanen's 2.55 sitting in the press box.
